Admiral Hotel

the location was perfect right opposite the station and the Tesco wasn’t far, short walk to shops and the sea front or a short taxi ride away. the hostess was lovely and welcoming and gave a very in depth induction.

i did feel like we were told things that’s common sense, felt a bit like being a child in school, but I appreciate that’s probably because some guess must have wrecked the place. there was some dust in the kitchen and the glassware hadn’t been used in a while so was dusty but easily solved by a quick rinse. there wasn’t a tea towel though.

Having stayed at The Admiral before we were expecting the usual warm, friendly welcome from Seb (Proprietor).We were not disappointed especially as she remembered us from our previous stays - no mean feat as there are no doubt plenty of guests who pass through the doorway to the hotel...! The apartment did not disappoint and was spacious enough for a family of 4 to live there without getting in each other's way. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beroom cum living room was comfortable. Seb was very helpful in organizing our stay and giving advice and recommendations on everything from discounts to weather reports and where to buy outdoor clothing. We shall definitely be booking again in the future! (Covid dependent of course)

Nothing comes to mind. If I had to pick anything it would be the low doorways and ceiling beams in the apartment. That's nofault of the room though - just my height - there would be no issues for an average height person but anyone over 6 feet tall will need to remember to duck, especially at night...!

Great location - everything accessible and right next to train station / main bus stops. Really helpful staff.

The room size was small, but as the really nice owners pointed out - had we booked direct the rooms would have been larger - taking that advice next time as, except the size ( and to be fair it was only for sleeping) everything else was great!

Everything about the stay. The hostess was really nice and helpful, she made me, my husband and children feel really safe and comfortable. The room and bathroom was nice and clean, It was a very pleasant stay.

It was very accessible to train, bus and city centre. Seb welcomed us with such great warmth that made us feel safe and valued. I would definitely go back to Admiral, great stay.

Seb greeted us and I found her extremely helpful and polite. I had to cut the holiday a day early and she offered a free night stay there next time. Hotel is city centre and across the road is the train station and taxi rank. It's just a 2 minute walk into town. Took us 15 minutes to walk to the arcades on the sea front.

Near the town centre and the seaside. Lots of food options and the staff was very accomodating. Even told us about the train cancellations sk we made it back home on time.

Room was a bit warm for summertime.

The property owner and manager was absolutely amazing and did everything she could to enable us to enjoy our stay. Very accommodating management and in a good location.

We stayed in the basement and the floors felt perpetually cold but it was fine because we were only staying for a couple of days

Lovely staff, very friendly. Clean and tidy room and good location.

Would have liked an ensuite bath room but it was a private bathroom so it was ok and clean and tidy.
