The house was amazing, it smelt beautiful when we walked through the door, the LED candles on and and the radio on the TV were a lovely touch. The bed was soooooo comfy and the bath was huge, so relaxing for a bubble bath and the LED candles made it extra chilled. Loved the fact they left a small bottle of milk in the fridge and provided a few coffee pods for the machine, perfect when its only for one night as you don't remember to pack things like that. We had a fabulous time and already planning our next trip to come back, the village was lovely, people were nice, little café didn't open until 10 on a Saturday morning so we didn't try breakfast as we headed in to Scarborough for the day.

The fire didn't work, we did report this at 5.30pm when we went to the Plough for food and they said they would send someone over but no one came to fix it. I'm just glad it wasn't any colder as this would have spoiled our evening.

Such a cute cottage which totally surpassed our expectations! immaculately clean and the owners had thought of everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay! Private off road parking space was a bonus too… We loved the modern decor, the cosy comforts, the little touches, the village, the pub and so close to all the attractions, it is an amazing home from home! My daughter and I were very impressed and will definitely recommend and return when next in Scarborough!

Arrived during peak dinner time in the restaurant but staff were very quick to make time to check us in and show us to our room. The room was spotless and whole building looked clean/ well presented. As it was a last minute trip, we didn’t book in to dine at the restaurant, but still enjoyed drinks in the evening. The staff were fantastic and attentive, more than accommodating of us staying for a drink as they were closing down the bar- those working Sunday 18th night/ Monday morning were a real credit to the team. Breakfast was delicious and you were able to make your selections on the form the night before. We had croissants and full English breakfasts which were fantastic. Couldn’t fault the service and considering we only booked that morning, we had the best time. Will definitely visit again.

The room was small but immaculately furnished, particularly in the bathroom. The rainfall shower was particularly good (and powerful). We only stayed for the one night but the staff on arrival were friendly and helpful, and then it switched to a younger bar staff for the Friday night, where the pub was very busy and popular. Good selection of drinks and food available. If you are looking to visit Scarborough but don't want to stay in the town then Scalby is ideal as it's only 10 minutes drive away. Taxi was about £10. Staff offered to help with our cases as the room was on the second floor and up two flights of stairs - we didn't need the help (although it was much appreciated), but older guests most likely would.

Free parking is available on the street but it is limited around the vicinity of the pub - we arrived on a Friday afternoon and just about found the last space on the street, otherwise we would have had to search around the local streets for somewhere. Any other day I'd presume this wouldn't be such a problem.

Lovely spot just outside of Scarborough. Room was very well appointed with quality toiletries, Bath robes, Nespresso machine etc. Staff very cheerful and friendly

Main issue was the mix up with the meal we booked on arrival. Because pets are not allowed in the rooms and that was something I'd searched hard to find I mistakenly believed that there would be a pet free eating area which there isn't. Ended up going elsewhere and as it was a special occasion it spoilt the trip a bit for me. The manager was very apologetic and I guess it was my error.It is getting very difficult to find a country hotel / restaurant that is dog free - not the owner's fault, they have to accommodate the wishes of the majority of clientele.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay all was really great apart from the noise of the small fridge that came on intermittingly keeping us both awake most of the night During the day the noise from the fridge was slight but through the night seemed much louder leaving us both with little sleep I did speak to one of the staff who said he would make a note of the fridge

The cottage was spotlessly clean, tea and coffee provided, plus milk. Beautifully soft bedding, heavy curtains to block out the light. Comfy sofas and plenty of space to chill. such a gorgeous place! Lovely well cared for plants and flowers brightened the courtyard and front porch.

There was no off-street parking, however I knew this before travelling and it wasn’t a problem, even with a village festival going on we got parked up quite easily!

The Plough is situated in a lovely location, and only a forty minute walk into Scarborough North Bay. It is one of three places to eat in the lovely 'Scalby'. The Yew Tree Bistro, I believe, is owned by the same people. The room (for it's size) was amazingly well proportioned. Pretty much everything you need for a short break. Very friendly & accommodating staff.

It would have been nice to have had some water in the mini bar. Also, there was no fresh fruit available for breakfast. The homemade granola and greek yoghurt with honey was delicious, however we were expecting fresh fruit with it, and it came dried. Nonetheless we would definitely go back. Otherwise a fab place.

No problem with the Plough whatsoever just to say that it is not a good place to stay if you are going to the open air theatre. Absolutely no way of getting a taxi back there afterwards so ended up walking after hours of trying numerous taxi companies. If you are going to a show at the open air theatre then make sure you drive yourself! 2 young girls had to walk back, along the dark country lanes by ourselves at gone midnight! The room here was also very expensive to stay in.
