Black Lion0

Arrived at the Black Lion and was greeted with lovely down to earth staff. Was able to leave luggage while my daughter and I went to see a show. Arrived back to be shown room..which was basic but had everything we needed. Was clean and tidy and beds very comfortable. Shared facilities also clean. Only downside for myself was the noise level..however I'm a light sleeper anyway and forgot ear plugs..will remember them for next time. The landing and stairs could use a freshen up...though under new management now I feel they will soon have that sorted out. Perfect location and sgain friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to coming back for more visits 😀

It was very comfortable, and the room was spacious and spotless. The Landlord and Landlady were a lovely couple and the bar was pleasant serving excellent ales, and the staff were very friendly and helpful aswell. I didn't have breakfast but then again I never do. The Black Lion couldn't be placed in a better more central spot, It's location in the town centre is perfect for all of Scarborough's attractions and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Scarborough😊

There was nothing I could think of that I didn't like about the Black Lion, just keep on giving the excellent service you offer.

Breakfast was very good could not eat all the toast. Excellent value for money. Good central location with free parking 10 mins walk away. Bed was really comfy slept really well. Showers and toilets were near the bdroom as well.

No remote control so could not use TV had been stolen by a previous guest did not matter too much as only staying 1 night. A liitle bit of noise from Beer Garden but this finished at 11pm. The manager explained about TV remote control and company were repacing carpets in the near future and possible refurb and freshen up of thre rooms which is understandable.

I was a little worried about Black Lion since i was so cheap. Only stayed one night but was really pleased with it! shared showers and toilets never a problem, comfy beds, clean towels, not far from the beach and plenty of shops around the hotel. Kids didnt want to come home and we will use Black Lion again.

My only complaint was i was refused a beer in the bar to take upstairs to my room which i've never had at other stays.

English Breakfast was Fantastic for £7 Per Person you can choose what you require night before breakfast. Double room was clean with shared bathrooms plus toliet which were also very clean. Location of the Black Lion Pub was excellent right in the center of Scarborough so not much walking distance to shops,etc. Barry the landlord of the Black Lion made our 1 night stay special and welcoming. Drink prices in the pub were excellent value compared to other pubs in the area.

We had such a great time here!! We were actually at Whitby goth & because we were late booking this is the closest we could get but so glad! Our room was lovely & clean, the toilet/shower were separate from the room but I actually liked that , the toilets & shower were also separate. The shower was right opposite our room, lovely big clean shower. The breakfast was preorder which wasn't a problem & it was absolutely delicious!! Such a great value for money! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

It was a Good/fair price for our stay. The room was basic but clean and it did the job. Clean shower and bathroom. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Also i think its very nice because there was some toys/books for young kids to play with if they wanted. They also had a hairdryer to borrow which is always good to know.

Not a dislike but it was abit tricky getting our pram around the premises and getting your suitcase/bags up the stairs. Struggle with parking

Lovely staff, very clean room and facilities, great location. Great value for money.

Double glazed windows would be an improvement. There was noise in the early hours from council workers, street cleaning etc. Also there was only one main light in the room and it wasn't central, some bedside lamps would be good.

The Black Lion is a rockin little pub. The room was clean and quiet. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, who were lovely and helped me feel safe and comfortable travelling on my own. I ordered breakfast which was AMAZING!!! I will be booking again and again.

There is no parking facilities but there is a massive pre book car park just a minutes walk away. I was worried but shouldn’t have been as my car was safe and monitored all night.

Everything was perfect and in prime position for the shops and 10 minutes stroll to the beach and I'm definitely going to go there next year for a extra night and the owner was brilliant

Nothing not to like people are brilliant and polite and very helpful the only thing was the door wouldn't open because the barrel inside the door was a bit awkward
