The hotel itself is very spacious, which you don't get it often from a hotel in Japan. As we were a family of four, we coud open all four luggages at the same time. Love the location where it is convenient to explore the main area in osaka and the train station. They had a common pantry area for you to get freeflow of drinks/soup. You can buy food from outside and just chill there. The most amazing experience we had was the service from the staff even after we checked-out. We checked-out on 2 Jun and they had a transport to send us to Nanba station as we needed to take a train to Kansai airport from there. That day was unfortunate as there was typhoon and all train/bus services stopped. My family and I were stucked at Nanba, at loss. So I whatsapp the hotel to try asking if they offer airport transfer. The next thing they called me and said, though they are not license to do airport transfer, they found out that there is bus services from OCAT to Kansai airport; and they will pick us up from where they drop us and sent us to OCAT. We were so relieved. Once we reached OCAT, they did not just drop us, the staff even helped us with our luggage and walked us all the way to the ticket booth and told us what to do and assured us before leaving. They even said, just call them if anything. They even continue to whatsapp me to check our status. I have never experience such an attentive service from hotels before even after we checked out, and they are the first. My family and I were very grateful to the hotel staff. We will not hesitate to come back and stay again.

Very spacious room , the bed was big, and I really like the room layout. We could easily open wide out 3 big luggage and still have space to walk about in the room. The free drink and cozy set up at the lobby area are my favourite. I like the massage chair and after a long walk it is nice to sit in the massage chair. The room has a big sofa set with table, a long make up table which is really nice. Also, they clean the room every day and provide free bottle drink. We didn't had this with the hotel we booked in Tokyo. So a big thank you. Location is fantastic, very near to Namba Station, eating places and Dontobori. Worth the money you pay for this hotel.

Though I like it that they provide washing machine which is located next the hotel, you pay 400yen to wash and 100 yen for drying. It is actually pretty small. The dryer especially is not hot enough. I had to run 3 times to get the clothes dry even with little clothes. Detergent is provided as it says, but when I did my washing I literally could not smell the detergent freshness on my clothes. Not sure if it was already emptied and they didn't replace it.

The location is awesome in order to explore Osaka and travel to other destinations like Nara. important hot spots like Dottonbori and Nipponbashi can be reached in 10min by walking. A metro station is 2min away etc. The service personnel was super friendly and comforting. They even gave us a ride to the metro station to get to the airport. You can enjoy drinks in the lobby for free. Our twin room had to separate beds. However they can be connected, if you ask the service.

Depending on the room, the toilet might smell a little bit and you might hear the air condition of other rooms.

Our overall experience was great. The drink/eating lounge that's open until 12 midnight was really great, convenient and you can just bring your take-outs and eat it there. 7/11 is just a block away. Dotonbori is a 5-minute walk. The bus station from Kansai airport is a 10 minute walk. It's right next to the subway (Namba station). The underground is full of shops and restaurants. The beds were the most comfortable bed we had in all our travels overseas. The staff was really helpful with everything. They even gave us a ride to the bus station (OCAT) and carried our luggages and stroller inside and helped with buying of the tickets. It could taken us 30 minutes just to figure out where to go take the bus since we have 2 little ones. We really thanked them for that. For guests with babies, they have strollers you can borrow too! We will definitely book again next time we visit Osaka.

None.

This hotel was in a very central location, a few minutes walk from Dotonbori. They had a great drinks bar with free drinks and a microwave was available for heating up convenience store meals. Out of all the hotels we stayed in Japan, this room was the most spacious. We had 2 large and 2 cabin suitcases open with plenty of space available to walk around. After checking out the hotel had a mini bus available to transfer us to Namba station. One of the receptionists also came with us and unexpectedly offered to carry both of our very heavy suitcases from the drop off point to the gates within the station and explained to us which train to get to go to the airport.

Not being able to take the drinks from reception to the rooms.

Everything went more than perfect at this hotel during our stay. The staff are just exceptionally nice and are willing to do literally anything for the guests to be extremely comfortable and satisfied. The hotel, rooms, and facilities are very clean, functional, and pleasant and best of all is the location where literally everything you need or want is a very short walking distance away. But it is the staff that made this our best stay ever. By staff I mean every single person from the owner all the way to the cleaners. Just perfect and can't wait to visit Osaka again and stay at the hotel.

By all means nothing! Everything was way over my expectations.

The room was very spacious, with plenty of space to have two large suitcases open which was very useful. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed was large and comfortable. We arrived slightly before check in hoping to be able to leave our bags there while we explored, but we were able to go to our room early which was very much appreciated. The staff couldn't do enough, we were taken directly to the train station after we checked out. They had free drinks in the lobby which was nice, as we were able to grab a coffee before heading out for the day. The location itself was great as it was minutes away from Dotonbori so plenty of food within reach!

My only issue was the washing machines/dryers. Every time we went to use them (going to check every 30 mins or so in an evening!) they were full, so obviously in high demand, so they could use more of them as we were relying on being able to use them during our stay.

The hotel is a 3-minute walk to Dotonburi. Room was large and segregated by bedroom, bath/toilet and even a doorway to the entrance. Sofa bed was laid out already, and there was still sufficient space to navigate around the room. The coffee area at Level 1 serves complimentary drinks and has plates, utensils and microwave oven for your dining needs. Excellent for those who prefers to buy takeaways or bentos from Dotonburi or nearby convenience stores and eat at the comfort of the hotel coffee area. The hotel manager and staff provided exceptional service. He not sent us to the nearby Nankai Station, but he helped with the luggage all the way to the gantry to the trains. Thank you very much.

Nothing. We loved the place.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 11 years old. We loved staying at this hotel. Aside from being in a very accessible and convenient location, the service provided by everyone (and I mean, everyone!!!) in their staff was impeccable. They were all very hospitable and accommodating, always ready to help us out in case we had questions. From check-in to check-out, everything was a seamless process. My kids especially loved the free massage chairs at the lobby. These were a welcome sight whenever we'd come home from a whole day's walk. My husband particularly loved the all-day free drinks provided by the hotel at the lobby. The eating/dining area in the lobby, with all the amenities provided therein, more than compensated the lack of actual restaurant in the hotel. We loved spending time in the dining area every morning and seeing other guests enjoying their convenience store-bought breakfasts. The hotel is a stone's throw away from Dotonbori, thus very easy for us to find good restaurants all around and satisfy our Japanese food cravings. I loved how the hotel thought of everything they could to make their guests' stay a comfortable one. They even provide free masks at the lobby, for the safety of their guests. Rooms were good-sized and equipped with all the standard toiletries/amenities. Beds were really comfy, not too soft, not too hard. Their housekeeping staff did such a great job cleaning the rooms every single day, which made it such a wonderful place to return to after spending the whole day outside. Not sure if it was because we stayed there for a total of 9 nights, but our room was ready and we were allowed to check-in as early as 11:00am, even though their standard check-in time was at 3:00pm. We were also allowed to do a late check-out without any charge whatsoever, again probably because we stayed there for a long time. Lastly, the hotel kindly offered to drive us to OCAT to take the bus to the airport.

Nothing!!! We loved everything about Hotel 88 Shinsaibashi! Couldn't ask for more!

The hotel was perfect location, just a few minutes from Dontonburi, and Shinsaibashi (shop til you drop), and a short walk to Kuromon (great street food and sea food), and Doguyasuji (kitchen street). It is right off Namba train station, bus depot (OCAT) and easy local Midosuji train to UMEDA (incredible shopping mall area just 4 stops away). There is common lounge downstairs and tap drinks/sodas/soups, hot coffee, teas - avail free all day. There is silverware and dishes. Many folks brought street food or other food back and ate there. The staff keep the area spotless and constantly wash cups and dishes. The hotel is relatively small so you dont feel crowded, we even played cards and shot pool a few nights. The hotel is very family friendly. Most Japanese hotels only allow 2 adults per room, here they allow up to 4. The price is very good value. The staff were incredibly kind and polite. We didn’t know but they will shuttle you to OCAT to take bus to the airport for free. They may shuttle to other places too (we didn’t ask). The shuttle avoids dragging luggage to train and bus stations, and avoids expensive taxi. So we scheduled this. Not only did they drop us off at bus terminal, they helped us with our bag upstairs to bus terminal gate, and then helped us to purchase our tickets to the airport (realizing, we dont speak any Japanese)! All my stress for how to make sure we bought correct tickets, for correct bus, for the correct time, just melted away! All this, without us asking…we were just in awe of the service and can’t recommend this hotel more! 5 star service!

Rooms are small but this is typical of hotels in Japanese cities.
