Nice hotel. A little dated. There appeared to be a newer section near the spa but we didn’t stay in that part of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice. Lots of choice. Very nice staff.

It was a little remote from the main thoroughfare. The on-site shuttle bus had a limited schedule so we did not use it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. Also, I enjoyed the spa very much. Please note that the hotel is located on a hill about 1 km away from the busy city center. And even though St. Saviour´s Rd. is very busy too, the hotel rooms are absolutely quiet, so don´t worry about traffic noise at all. If you are German like me don´t forget to bring an adapter for you phone or laptop (otherwise, the staff will help you out).

It´s hard to say anything negative about the hotel. One could argue if a second coffee machine at the breakfast room would be helpful. Furthermore, the bar does not exactly have the atmosphere of a true bar, as it is a combination of a (very good!) restaurant and a place where you can have a drink in the late evening. As I had dinner at the restaurant several times and being on my own, I wasn´t seeking a cosy bar anyway.

Large bedroom, large bathroom, very comfortable large bed, views of the town from a reasonable size balcony with coffee table and chairs, fridge and plenty of sockets for charging devices. Hotel provide a shuttle service to the town centre and stops for town circular service are right outside the hotel. Spa is excellent, pools for all, steam room, sauna and delightful outdoor patio and garden to lounge in in sunny days. A very wide choice at breakfast.

Proper drawer space non existent, tv is well past its use by date, no subtitles (not good for the hard of hearing) and no catch up. Dinner menu is rather limited, especially for vegetarians.

The Spa facilities were lovely- really enjoyed using these and they're all well kept and beautiful. Our room had a lovely view over St Helier and the hotel gardens which were very pretty. The real flowers dotted around the hotel was a really nice touch and so nice to see.

Some staff weren't overly friendly and didn't seem happy to be working there. Some staff were really nice so it was mixed and we found this all across the hotel including the Spa, Reception and also at breakfast. Our room needed an extra lamp for the evening. The bathroom was very dated and didn't live up to a 4 star hotel.

Great choice for breakfast which was served by polite and efficient staff. The room was well furnished and spotlessly clean with daily towel change. The spa was impressive - same quality and attention to detail as across the hotel. Gowns available in room and clean, fresh towels available at spa. Beautiful pool and very large jacuzzi, plus plunge pools, sauna etc. Fabulous!

Unfortunately the lift to the side of the building our room was located in was not working for the first few days which made access to our third floor room very difficult. Although reasonably active pensioners it did cause us some problems. Access to the hotel is quite steep!

Beautiful Hotel very clean staff very friendly and helpful food very nice. Our spa room was very spacious and had wonderful view over the town. Very quiet. Spa and swimming pool area lovely. Gardens beautiful. Courtesy bus into town centre four times a day

Big long steep slope up to hotel from road and not many disabled paeking spaces on level by hotel. Steps to swimming pool so not 100 % accessibile. Courtesy bus did run in evenings or on a Sunday so although public trandport bus stop is right by the hotel on the road it was hard for me to use this as steep walk up to hotel.

Located on the outskirts of st Helier and is by a bus stop. The hotel offers a shuttle service into town which runs every 2 hours from 8am until 4pm. This only takes 11 people, so be prepared to use buses or taxis or have a 20-30 minute walk into town. It has an indoor pool and there are plenty of outside seating areas if you want to catch the sun. Staff are helpful and friendly but service can be a little slow

Although grand from the outside, the inside lets it down. Its decor is straight from 1980s American hotels, and badly needs updating, especially in the hallways where badly fitting carpet makes it feel rundown. It is more of a conference hotel than a leisure hotel and as such has no real ambiance.

I usually stay at the Hotel de France during my trips to Jersey. It has a car park and is located in St Helier. The rooms are quiet and it's all very convenient. However, it's now pricing itself out of the market.

Since the pandemic, prices at the Hotel de France have massively increased. The price per night has almost doubled, as have food prices. Portion sizes at breakfast are now mean. Because of Brexit (one assumes), staff are now recruited from outside Europe. The only problem is understanding what they say. I noticed that the native speakers among the staff could not understand them either, I had to ask one waiter to write down what he was trying to communicate.

It’s a stunning building, very grand, from the imperial era. Very imposing, with impeccably manicured, beautiful grounds. The spa / pool facilities are excellent and make for a very relaxing experience.

A lot of it is closed off and under-utilised (lounge bar on floor 0, for a start). “La Terrasse” area is very rundown, covered in lichen and the sheltered interior aspect has worn, unsightly tiles, not becoming of such a magnificent building. As you step inside the main bar/grill area the decor is garish and very dated and the ceiling is worn in parts. it just seems unloved and like they’re running the property down. The service in the bar grill area in the evening is absolutely appalling, I’m aware that’s a separate issue, but your orders are forgotten, you wait long periods of time to be attended to and they frequently get your order wrong. The staff are very pleasant, but not exactly rushed off their feet. it really tainted our experience.
