The staff were amazing, super welcoming happy smiley and helpful. I cannot say enough about the staff being really lovely people. The food was very good as well, with lots of gluten free options. Great location easy to walk to beach and to town. Very family oriented hotel. The beds were comfortable too. Rooms very clean. The pool area when open was fab for the kids and they loved the huge waterslide and river. And it was heated so the water wasn't freezing!

The room was really small for a triple and the price paid. The pool was only open from 930am-5pm, so if you were out all day seeing the island then there was no time for kids to swim at all either before or after. Or to use the sauna after a long day out.

We love the pool and the breakfast, astika the flow rider instructor/lifeguard was amazing, really is an attribute to the hotel and made our holiday, it takes a certain personality to be able to interact with any guest and he made everyone feel welcome and always has a smile on his face.

Quite dated could definitely do with a refurbish and air con installed for the hotter months, also can’t really be helped but not sure if it’s the water of ice cubes but there’s a really strong chlorine taste in any drinks with ice or the drink pump we couldn’t work out what it was.

Hotel was extremely clean and breakfast buffet was excellent! Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and very clean. It was spacious and bed was ok to sleep in. pillows were a bit weird but that’s to be expected isn’t it! (they weren’t mines from home) The pool was superb!!! warm and clean and plenty of things to do for the kids.

There was night entertainment but we personally felt the kids ones were put on far too late, especially when they already had an exhausting day. Also the choices of vegetarian/vegan were very poor. Basically eat chips most evenings which was not ideal. Needs to be more choice of food options in the evenings.

The staff were the friendliest, most helpful people you could meet! Every single member of staff from the housekeeping staff to the waiters, bar staff, concierge, pool attendants, check-in staff, all of them went the extra mile. Plenty of food, drink and seating options. Though the entertainment wasn't really for us, it definitely brought more value to the price. And the pool was great for the kids. Not so great for adults as it's not deep, definitely more to play in. But the kids played happily for an hour or two everyday!

The rooms were quite basic for the price. We would have liked them to be bigger and as its a beach/pool location, we would have loved to have been able to hang a family's worth of towels each day.

Breakfast was great selection. Hot buffet & continental choices. Was kept well stocked by the staff. Was quite busy but not really an issue but obviously meant a queue for the hot buffet, but we worked around it. My daughter especially liked the pancake machine. The hotel had entertainment every night in a night club shows etc like a ABBA night & magician. We didn't use it. Also a pianist in the bar each evening. Different restaurants in the hotel, American diner, Italian, buffet food from various countries. Sorry didn't use as went out. But judging by the numbers of people in them I'm assuming they were quite good. Great pool area with cafe/bar for use which we did use.

The hotel had a few bus tours which meant volume of people was an issue for the breakfast. Tried to gauge a good time to go down for breakfast but didn’t succeed on any day. So just ran with it as we weren’t stuck for time ourselves. The room we had was at the back of the hotel. Not a problem room was clean & adequate for our needs until the church bells started. Rang from 07:00 every morning every 15 mins. Became a joke in the end & got yse yo them bug gor other people this might be a problem.

Breakfast was wonderful, so much choice. Dining room welled planned making it comfortable to get around to collect food from the different stations without having to queue. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service with a smile! 😀 Bed very comfortable. Room compact. As older guests we thought it would be a very noisy stay with so many young guests but we were never disturbed at all. Always managed to get a vacant disabled bay in front of the hotel.

We experienced very warm weather on our two night stay at the Merton Hotel. My main complaint was the extreme heat in our room ( room 549), no air con but there was a fan which wasn’t very effective, not throwing out enough cold air. Unable to leave the windows open at night due to traffic noise. Resulting in sleepless nights.

Location excellent, staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Food was pretty much as all buffet breakfast, everything you could possibly want. The full English was the same everyday, bacon a little salty and a bit overdone, the fried eggs were more like poached and a little overcooked. But eggs are very difficult to suit everyone. We didn't eat the buffet evening meal which seemed rather pricy but we ate in the Bonitos restaurant twice, served menu and therefore more priced for how much you wished to eat. Parking for guests was free....bonus, we used public transport. Aquadrome and gym included in the price of the hotel, excellent The lifts were fast and efficient. The housekeeping gentleman, Franklin, that serviced our room was above and beyond. The ambience of the hotel was pleasant with plenty of seating lounges. The reception and lobby were 24/7 and always friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and there was a kettle with tea and coffee

The huge price for the evening buffet which assumes you will eat a huge amount of everything. A minor detail was the distance to and from the hotel for the public transport. No fridge or safe in the room. A safe was available behind reception.

Buffet breakfast. Good selection, Well cooked. Facilities clean and tidy. We were impressed with the environment and all staff acknowledged us, which became very noticable. Very good welcome at Reception and upon leaving.

Hotel was larger than expected, but was overnight stay and we were impressed by our experience. Did not find much to fault, except our room was very hot at night and we had to locate the radiator and reduce temperature that was set on 10! Opened windows and temperature improved.

The breakfast was ok when it was finally out. Sometimes a little cold. Considering one of the guys were bragging about 750 people being in the hotel most times you would have thought they could cope better.

The fact people’s tables kept being given away, this happened to us and we were asked to move to a table where people had already put their stuff so I refused. The next day it happened to other people near us, the system just does not work. Staff would be better off filling up missing items rather than standing chatting and waiting for a single plate. The parking number plate was entered wrong by the hotel which meant we had to keep going back to correct it. It wasn’t until the last time we were about to leave that they apologised and said we have entered it wrong!

My friends and I loved the look of the facilities. Lots of different areas to sit and eat. The entertainment was good. Although the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical singers were allot better than Abbaloo. Still all good fun. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. The staff really made this stay wonderful. They worked hard and the place was spotless. All with friendly greetings and a smile.

Restaurant we wanted to go to on the Monday was closed. Would have been nice if they had mentioned that on check in. Apart from that nothing. Everything was lovely.
