Lovely surroundings, polite staff, great food at the pub.
As I requested something special for my husband's birthday, we were given a bottle of prosecco (as suggested by me) and the birthday cake with a candle, which was super nice. As much as I was happy to pay for a prosecco, they also served a platter of 'birthday selection cakes' and charged £30 for that, without informing me in advance. Not good. Otherwise, all great.

We stayed in a superior room on the night of our wedding. It was such a special place to stay. it was beautifully furnished with grand wide bay windows and a private balcony. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Breakfast was fantastic with a great range of continental and cooked options. We sat in the conservatory which was so peaceful with pretty surroundings. We enjoyed sitting on the chairs outside on the terrace by the fountain after we had checked out. It was so quiet and tucked away that it made a relaxing escape after the busy weekend we had had with the wedding.
The shower room including jacuzzi bath was a little small considering the size of the room. If we were staying again we might look to request a larger bathroom.

If only all hotels paid such attention to detail and service. Restaurant quite pricey but they owned the local pub a few minutes walk away. Food and service there was excellent and we ate there again. Must add I have never checked in with the offer of a sherry or port from the decanters on the desk, great touch.
Had a problem with the plumbing making noises waking us up the first night. This was efficiently seen to the next day.

The Chateau staff are simply the best. I was greeted by Sonia who helped me to my room after greeting me with a delicious glass of port. The room was spacious as was the en suite with all necessary goodies. Breakfast is very good with a large selection and the evening meals are absolutely fabulous with a large wine and spirit selection. It was my birthday whilst I was there and I was treated to a large plate with "Happy Birthday written in chocolate and a fabulous piece of cake with a candle, everyone sang happy birthday as well. It is literally a two minute walk to the harbour/beach and the Rozel pub which has excellent food and drinks. Walk the other way up the lane and the woods hold Red squirrels which are a delight to see. A beautiful old building and a pleasure to stay.

amazing staff, decor and sitting areas inside and out were wonderful - lovely touch of blanket when sitting outside.
wonder if time could be given to deep clean painted handle area around the bathroom door please. I also meant to add before I left that the sink was very slow draining… But bed wonderful and facilities tea coffee fridge (milk included) etc were all amazing. Do any of the other rooms have telephones? I wondered about being able to call reception. WiFi was extremely poor still in room 14 just FYI

Staff excellent. Bedroom suite a little disappointing very very low sloping roof to.bed area meant very difficult get into/out of bed with out hitting the ceiling. Anyone over 5'6 would struggle. Also bed was a small.size double. Balcony good and the setting was exquisite. The public rooms were delightful and very elegant Very attentive and pleasant staff
See above plus a lot of steps from car park and then lots of stairs up to room

Plus Points Lovely sized bedroom. Very comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom. Large bedroom windows to let in light and air. Great balcony. Lovely cooked breakfast. In an extremely quiet spot on the island. But, above all, some wonderful friendly and helpful staff who could not do enough for you.
Minus Points The cold buffet breakfast options were poor for a 4* hotel. The hotel is very tired and it needs a lot of TLC and money spending on it (especially some of the bedroom furniture).

Exceptional courteous and friendly staff, a gorgeous chateau situated in the forest of La Valley de Rozel. Wonderful room and location and stunning food offering a buffet Continental Breakfast and a range of Cooked Options that were often a main highlight of the day.
Accessibility is difficult for those less abled, lighting and signposting from the public transport is non-existent however this is not reflective of the hotel as the parish manage the road access up to the main hotel entrance.

The attentive staff took care of needs for our 23 month-old son, which was great. Very helpful! The desk manager also worked some magic to get us a taxi for the airport when it looked like we were going to be stuck. Again... amazing help from a very friendly staff. The same staff worked at the pub owned by the hotel and were incredibly friendly and helpful again for our son. Two thumbs up!
I think the rear of the hotel needs a bit of TLC. Some of the paint was chipping and the hotel is in a bit of disrepair.

We loved the location in beautiful Rozel Bay - peaceful with a lovely vibe in the chateau. Woody our Jack Russell was treated very well. A welcoming sherry on arrival was a lovely touch. We enjoyed both restaurants, tasty food with helpful staff. We will be back again. We are considering a Christmas visit. Sheena and Tony Linsey Pike
