Went here for Valentine's getaway the bed was so comfortable I had the best sleep and usually it takes time for me to fall asleep somewhere new I'd definitely stay here again! Love the outdoor patio to with the bistro and room service was great they brought us fresh towels new comforters and even vacuumed the rose petals off the floor for us and the staff there in the morning was very kind she made sure we were comfortable

The atmosphere was not exactly how it was described with fireplace garden and winery also wish they had a microwave and easy access to ice

Comfortable bed, pretty decor, clean room and exceptional front desk service. Lobby offers free coffee and tea throughout the day but there is no breakfast.

Location. The hotel is not close to downtown Carmel and if you don’t have a car, the walk to downtown Carmel, albeit only about 15-17 minutes, is difficult, considering there are no sidewalks and you are walking right next to the cars. If guests drive, the location is okay and there is onsite parking.

Staff Cindy and Ms. Estrada greeted me warmly at reception. My original room was not quite ready, and I was upgraded to a beautiful cottage--very private, spacious, and had a jetted tub and shower! I was walked to the cottage and shown where the best parking area for my room was (private and secure). Grounds are gorgeous--beautiful patio with lush landscaping and a fire pit to enjoy on chilly evenings. Location in a residential area was great for walking.

Everything was great, we enjoyed our short stay - the toiletries were also surprisingly nice! The room seemed newly furnished (or very well kept) and we appreciated the balcony. Could have definitely used an aircon if there was one, but luckily the days we were there weren't very hot. We did have a fan which helped during the night :) Each room having a wine theme was also a nice touch, although wish we could have tried it! A tiny taster bottle would have been an amazing idea.

Would only note that it was unfortunate that we had only one duvet and it was not in a cover - instead it was only covered with a sheet from one side, which obviously moves during the night. I've noticed that many hotels/hostels/airbnbs in California do that - I guess it's traditional, but seems unhygienic, messy and a bit lazy. Maybe time for a change? :)

Aside from hearing footsteps of guests above my room, all guests were quiet and well behaved (not loud or rowdy) and that was important to me as this trip was meant to be a "quiet vacation". I enjoyed having a refrigerator in my room! I enjoyed the cool air, so I was glad to have windows that I could keep open (I came from home where it has been 95+ degrees!). I believe there were several guests with dogs and I appreciated their owners keeping them quiet!

My needs were very simple this trip, so I cannot think of anything to make it better (I only wish I could have stayed longer!).

Property is close to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. It also has some green spaces that are well maintained. Owner and front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend staying here just for the service.

Sound traveled through the walls. Could hear snoring in other rooms as well as a very loud water pipe every time the neighboring unit used their water.

they have no signage to direct you to the rooms and it looks like you are parking in someone’s personal driveway and entering a personal backyard. it’s really unclear. it would have been really hard to deal with after hours. Our room was nice but dated, and had a really musty smell that was kind of unpleasant. The bed was comfortable.

The manager Cindy is a very likeable and a pleasant person. She knows her job well. Cindy is kind to everyone whether they are customers, contractors or maintenance workers.

The mattress is not firm. It is caving in. The spring coils are weak, too flexible.

I liked the convenience of the location and that the parking was right in front of your room.

I thought I was going to have a bigger garden back yard type of deal because when I was booking the room I imagined something bigger but still enjoyed the back little patio
