The location was perfect. Very close to the seafront and we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves on the shore. The town was within easy walking distance, which was great as my husband has walking difficulties. The breakfast was lovely and the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Aberystwyth is a lovely seaside town with plenty to do and see. We took a trip on the Rheidol Heritage Railway and can thoroughly recommend it.

Not a criticism of the guest house itself but the stairs up to the top floor proved a challenge for my husband with his arthritic knees.

I loved the bay window in my room (consti) with the tables and chairs. It was a lovely feature I wasn’t expecting. The bathroom was a decent size, the shower head very powerful. I loved the light over mirror so you could use that instead of main light late at night so the fan wouldn’t disturb next door. The little chocolates in the mugs were a lovely touch. Check in was super easy. Breakfast amazing. They even wrapped me a sandwich to go when I needed to leave early for my train on my check out date.

Nothing really. If you were looking at changing anything I would maybe consider looking at adding to the shower so you could opt to attach to wall as well as hand held. However, the bath is lovely and you do have the option of the shared shower too. So it isn’t something that detracts from the room. I used the hand held to rinse my hair it was great that way.

A lot of work had gone into redecoration since we last visited, which was great. We even got an upgrade to an ensuite because the newly renovated lock on our intended bedroom door didn't work! The upgraded room was very nice. Very accommodating and friendly staff helped us with the lock issue, and offered upgrade without hesitation. Enjoyed the hearty full Welsh Breakfast.

Nothing really - tiny issue perhaps that there was no socket by the bed to charge phone overnight. Also the shower in the ensuite was just over the bath kind - so we used the common shower instead - which was great.

The room was at the top of the house, I struggled with the stairs a little but I guess it was quieter at the top. The breakfast was brilliant the male chef was a bit grumpy but the female was lovely.

Take away the bath put in a walk in shower then you would have enough room to put the washbasin in the bathroom you would then be able to wash your hands with out having to leave the bathroom. It was impossible to have a shower with out soaking the floor as there was no shower curtain and very slippery as there was no bath mat for the bath, we were only there for one night but it was perfect for our visit to the university.

Would have liked the self check in if I hadn’t make the mistake of booking a room with shared facilities, a bit of help from the young girl who was ‘just the cleaner’ and a phone call later we managed to amend our booking for an en-suite room, probably wouldn’t have stayed if we couldn’t have, luckily we could do this for both nights we stayed even though we had to change rooms mid stay, no issue whatsoever both rooms pleasant and comfortable. Owner/ manager couldn’t have been more accommodating and breakfast was the best ever!

Nothing all good, sharing facilities just not for me!

fantastic location on South Beach next to the castle. very close to the beach. You could see the rolling waves from my room. very comfy bed, all new, clean soft furnishings. tea/ coffee making facilities and a few nice touches like a Chocy bar etc. fab breakfast, I had the full veggie, which included halloumi it was delicious. There was even a Vegan option. too. Plenty of Choice to cater for everyone and set you up for the day. Sara our lovely host was so nice and there to help in any way to make your stay perfect.

Nothing. my room was a shared bathroom, which didn’t bother me at all, it was spotless and perfectly fine. I believe renovations will be taking place in the near future to include private bathrooms for the rooms without them.

The room was lovely. We stayed in a cute little double room with an en suite. We were at the top of the house, and stairs were a little steep which was fine for us, however if you have mobility issues I would ask for a lower level room. The view from our room was stunning, to our right was the beach/sea, and it was beautiful!

We got slightly confused on arrival by ringing the mobile number on the door for check in, but needed to ring the landline. Wasn't an issue, once rang landline got through to the lady, and then was given the key safe number to gain entry. Just be mindful if you arrive late - ring the landline, not the mobile.

Location was great, close to sea front and parking outside the property was no problem. The family room was ideal on top floor for myself and two teenage girls and was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good and the staff were helpful and friendly.

The en-suite bathroom was very dated and it would be better if there was a proper shower over the bath or remove bath and fit a shower cubicle as small. Also, as mentioned by other reviewers, hooks on the bathroom door to hang clothes would be useful.

Lovely guest house in a great location. It was lovely and clean and the room was beautiful. Rooms had coffee tea sugar milk and bottled water and chocolate which was fab! We saw no one in the hotel while we were there until breakfast the next day, it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and we got a lovely welcome from the gentleman cooking it. I wouldn't have a problem staying here again.

When we arrived, there was no one there to let us in, so we rang the number of the guest house and got told how we could let ourselves in. Didn't take long to sort once we knew.

There are two outstanding things about this location. First, the staff are always smiling and that just makes any trip excellent. Part of that also included the incredible breakfast. They were very careful with preparing a very fresh and lovely breakfast. High quality ingredients served with a smile. The second is of course good value for the money. My single without a bath was only $75 a night and that’s a steal anywhere considering how close you are to the water.

The room was very small. Just enough space to put my things and me. The shower was the worst part because there was ZERO water pressure. At one point I thought the water actually might be going backwards up into the pipes. There was barely a dribble of water that came out. Anyone who likes a good shower will not find it here. I understand there are new owners and that they are planning for renovations over the winter. The first part of this has to be water pressure. Don’t let this little thing keep you away however. The friendly staff more than make up for the disappointing water.
