Loved the location walking distance to the centre of Skipton. The room was lovely and spacious and very quirky. Lots of tea and coffee and free cans of water and biscuits. Loved the spa bath and shower.

We went during the week Tuesday to Thursday to celebrate a special birthday and the bar was only open when the restaurant was open so had to go elsewhere which was a shame as the weather was horrendous. Also other residents on returning from their night out were very noisy at 1am banging doors etc.. not the hotels fault but maybe the hotel should put up signs to be quiet and mindful of other guests staying in the hotel. The church bells ringing till the early hours.

the room was nice but not luxurious for what we paid in total. breakfasts were extra to the room, in total we paid around £ 210 per night.

The hosts were very attentive & made us feel very welcome. It was very clean & in an excellent location. The food was amazing.

The room we stayed in was very nice ie the beds were comfy, the bathroom very bright, great shower, however it was extremely noisy. I think the noise was coming from the kitchen, this went on until 11.45 pm both nights & again early in the morning. Banging doors, talking & we could hear the sounds of equipment being moved, put away etc. The couch was very comfortable but where's it's positioned, the draft coming from under the door made it quite cold. I rolled a towel up to act as a draft excluder.

What's nit to like it's beautiful to look at to begin with. The facilities are outstanding and the staff and owner couldn't have been more welcoming nothing was too much trouble and Karen asked me everyday what housekeeping I needed.!! The room was spacious with lovely king-size bed with first class linen. If you forget toiletries plenty are in the bathroom. Big fluffy towels as well. Coffee tea etc also in room.

There are low beams in some rooms so if your tall remember to duck. Nothing negative at all.

The food was excellent throughout the week. Breakfast was well cooked and presented with a choice of flexible options. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times with nothing too much trouble. The evening meals we had there were faultless for quality and presentation and again the staff were first class. The room we stayed in was very clean and fairly spacious with authentic oak beams still in place.

Parking space was a little limited and the gravel surface of the car park made it a little tricky to access being on an upwards slope with no real room to have a run at it using little power, creating wheel slip on several occasions.

The food was absolutely fantastic. We booked a lovely meal in the bar and it surpased our expectations. The new owners are aware that the bedrooms are tired and in need of updating. They told us that are going to upgrade them next. Once that is done, I have no doubt they will get 10/10 for all bookings. Friendly helpful staff and very engaging owners.

The bedroom was dated and could do with a deep clean on carpets etc but, as previously stated, the new owners are aware and are going to make the much needed upgrades. If they match the restaurant decor, they will be amazing!

The place looks gorgeous and characterful. The staff (especially Fred, the manager) were all friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely too.

A warning to motorcyclists: ask if you can park in the triangle out at the front. The slope with gravel to the main car park is dangerous for two wheels. I would also highly recommend earplugs because the neighbouring church chimes every quarter of an hour 24/7. Also keep your bedroom windows closed or only slightly ajar if you don't like wasps. They go for the apples falling in the car park. The room was also a bit small for all my touring gear but it was the last one and used to be a storage cupboard! I don't blame the staff for any of the above. It's all completely out of their control.

Lovely comfortable room Clean with nice little details Carried my bags to my room, and friendly staff and owner Evening meal was great, considering it was steak night and I dont eat meat or dairy, still had plenty of options and food was lovely Breakfast the following day was lovely and made again to suit my dietary needs Will stay again when next in the area

Not a lot really.... if I was being picky it would be: Church bells (but thats not the hotels fault) Shower not powerful enough for me

The Curious Fox is situated in the old part of Skipton, close to the Church and Castle. Has recently had a major refurbishment, and is in excellent decorative order, our room looked over the town and directly onto the Church Spire. The food in the Restaurant was excellent, well presented and a pleasure to eat. The bathroom in our room had a Jacuzzi and multi jet shower.

I can't really think of any criticism, only thing to mention is if you travel by car, and it has low ground clearance, care is needed in the carpark, but that's the same all over Yorkshire.

Room very comfortable, only there briefly, staff very friendly, very informative and always helpful. Didn't have breakfast but ample supplies of tea and coffee in room. Car parking good and on site.

Price was higher than advertised on website, although we booked through booking.com and got the last room on the weekend of the food and drink festival, late on, so had we booked a week later the price would have been lower.
