Hampton Inn Manhattan Chelsea

The room was a good size for a hotel in NY and the bed was really comfortable. It was quiet and clean, and the breakfast was not bad. The location was really good, right in the heart of the Chelsea area and there are a few metro stations within a short walking distance. I would stay here again when we are in NY.

At breakfast, there were only disposable utensils and paper plates and cups, lots of single-use plastics.. Even the apples at breakfast were individually wrapped in plastic, and the each fork and knife were also each individually wrapped in plastic. It is very wasteful.

The location is good.

The eye shut blinds need to cover the whole window. It is easier to please in the darkness.

good location for us. Comfy bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Surprisingly quiet. Nice breakfast options .

couple of minor maintenance issues but we didn’t push to amend since our stay was short. We reported and staff was apologetic and having the room checked. Room carpet would benefit from a deep clean but otherwise very clean.

The locations great for the trip to New york

The breakfast areas very cramped and in reality the cost is very high.. (but I know better than others) it's just a real reason to be put off returning to New York

Location is great , close to subway , walking distance for all cool destinations points around like shopping restaurants art galleries museums. Breakfast offers nice choices of fresh fruits , pastries, hot breakfast meals like eggs sausages , waffles, coffee /tea is offered during 24 hrs

Superb location! The staff was very friendly & helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which varied slightly every day.

The hotel room, dining area, hallways, etc. seemed small, but it’s NYC, so no surprise that it wasn’t spacious.

I have been staying at tge Hampton Inn Chelsea 3 - 4 times a year for the past 20 years and this year it was clear that Jessica Matthews no longer is the manager. She will be sorely missed and she absolutely deserved her promotion. However, the new manager I am ssure, will soon take control. The people at the reception need a lot more training in customer service except for Sharon, who always is super professional. The location is perfect with easy access to subway and shopping on 6th ave, although it was easy to see that New York is still suffering from Covid, it was outright sad to see how many shops closed. I certainly hope it will be bettter when I come back in September or October. The cleaning staff was just fine, they came every day asking if I needed clean towels etc. very good.

As I mention above, the new staff at the reseption definetely need a lot more training in customer service both face to face with a hotel guest and on the telephone with coming guests and with people who are calling for a hotel guest. The staff must bear in mind that they represent the Hilton and the Hampton Inn Chelsea. That Ms Sharon understand.

Overall it’s a mid quality hotel, I think it’s really great for the money. The location is really top notch and we had a varied selection of breakfast. Plus the staff was super friendly and the facilities were clean.

Even though we stayed a week there, the room wasn’t cleaned. We didn’t communicate because we thought that after 4 nights the room was going to be cleaned (like it’s mentioned), but we realised that it wasn’t the case. The good thing was that in our first night there, the room was tidy and smelled very nice.

Location in Manhattan was perfect for more plans. There was a Starbucks down the street so I could get a morning latte although the hotel had breakfast which was also nice. Room was clean & large by NY standards. There was a safe in the room which was nice and a refrigerator. Staff, as an overall, were very nice. I would stay here again.

The hotel didn't have my reservation when I got there. Not sure if that was their fault or Booking.com. Fortunately, I had my paperwork. They were able to see the booking at Booking.com, but not in their records. I had about 20 minutes of not being sure if I would need to try to find another hotel which was pretty scary. In the end, they did give me a room. Thank goodness.

Lovely staff, great central and quiet location, good sized, clean and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay again.

There was only one elevator working meaning that there was a long wait... I was on the 5th floor, so used the stairs mostly, but for folks higher up, that wouldn't have worked. Also, the amount of waste generated made me sad... from throwaway cups and plates etc for every breakfast, and my part-used soap and towels being thrown away for no reason. I'd like to see them do better on their environmental footprint!
