The most positive impressions about your stay at Wisterian Life Club Verde no Mori . Very spacious room with garden view, comfortable beds and pillows, there is a kettle and tea. The hotel has a spacious swimming pool, its own onsen with a public and private bathroom, yukata and slippers are given out. The staff speaks English. There is a minibus on schedule . You can easily get from the railway station to the hotel by public transport. An open-air museum is located within walking distance. To the funicular station 10 minutes by bus. I definitely recommend this place for living.

We paid for breakfast, as there really isn't much of an option. Breakfast selection was fine (as long as you're not expecting anything other than Japanese food), the staff were friendly and efficient, and the view from the restaurant was amazing. The same restaurant also offers dinner; we were there during the very busy summer holidays, and it was booked out three days in advance. It's a bit difficult to get there without a car - we used a very crowded bus from Odawara train station to an intersection about 500m away. Only problem is that the resort was up a very steep hill, and the footpath is narrow - we eventually flagged a taxi! I'd recommend the alternative, the train up from Odawara to the village of Gora (the line is called the Hakone-Tozan line, and you have to change trains enroute). Takes about an hour but is very scenic. There's a hotel shuttle bus stop at Gora, with a free shuttle to the property. One final word - the room was EASILY the biggest hotel room we've had in Japan.

As above - it's a bit tricky to get there, and you have to think ahead with food.

The room was large, bigger than the average hotel room in Japan, and it had a great view of the mountains and back garden. Plenty of amenities. I liked the tatami mat floor and traditional table in my room. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

The AC/ heater didn't respond well to the remote; the room was a bit warm because the heater kept going but my day was too busy to lodge a complaint. Pillows could have been softer and more comfortable.

Easy to reach by transport once you understand it's location. Shuttle from Gora station was helpful to reach the hotel for the first time. The room was spacious and the bathroom was quite new. beautiful view from the balcony We got free entry tickets to Hakone Kowakien Yunessun, which was an amazing experience, but I believe we were just lucky, as there was a promotion at the time.

The size of the room was great for Japan

The rooms and building were 'tired' as previous reviews but clean and comfortable and huge compared with other places we had stayed in the cities. Facilities there although we used those next door for the leisure center. Bus stop outside to get to the cable car for Lake Ashi. Approx 15min ride

Fantastic, not much to not like. It delivers everything it promises. Got the most basic room but it was still pretty big. Gym is pretty good, I didn't use the pool or the baths - Hakone has plenty to do on a 3 day trip. Everything is well maintained. Staff is typical Japanese-polite - outstanding. Fair price and location doesn't really matter - you need a car in Hakone or you're not gonna have such a good time with transports.

The water in the shower took a really long time to warm up.

Really big room with balcony. We don’t agree with reviews about the smell. Free shuttle bus. Close to Hakone Lake and Gora Ropeway.

Walking along the busy road in the evening to get food (shuttle bus stops early) and only small tableware. Maybe add a large cup or bowl.

Hot spring was very comfortable with a variety of different baths. Nice room with tatami. Room had both normal beds and futons, so you can either try new sleeping style or stick to the European classic.

Public baths area is closed after 10 pm. If you don't have a car and have a late arrival, the train station is quite far away from the hotel.

Very spacious room, new renovation, Quiet and in the midst of nature

Our quest for extra pillows was declined ( only 1 pillow per person would be provided ). Water in the hot public baths seems to be just hot tap water , not hot spring water.

The onsen (hot springs), huge size of room, easy parking, vending machines at each level

Heater device difficult to understand for non japanese (no foreign languages instructions), no bar, inside shop close very early (8pm)
