The nicest and most helpful staff I have ever met during our trip, we were so grateful for her. The room also clean and nice, we love the little sitting nook beside the window, we have street view where we could see a cherry blossom tree from our room. Location also just in center, and very near from train station. The breakfast room is also nice, just like inside the cave, very cosy

The road outside the hotel is not so friendly if you are travelling by train and carry luggages like us, the cobblestone road could damage the luggage’s wheel. Try using other road near the bridge and less tram tracks, easier and less people.

The location

The lack of AC. They offer a portable AC unit that has a exhaust hose for the hot air that you have to pull out a window. During the day this is not a big deal, but you cannot sleep with the window open at night because of noise coming from the street as well as possible weather inclemency, therefore, you have to shut the unit off and close the windows brighter to going to sleep. The resulting heat inside the room is extremely high. The only way I could sleep was completely naked on top of the bed with no coverings.  The Hotel Felix right next door has better facilities and does have AC.

Convenient location near public transit, shops, and the lake. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel provides nice touches, including a delicious breakfast, bottled water, and ice cream. The rooms are set up to maximize the space, and it was great to have a small balcony to sit, especially on a hot day.

This is more of a tip rather than a dislike. Like many reviewers have shared, the hotel does not have air conditioning, but the room had a fan that was used to keep air circulation. It was unseasonably warm during my stay.

Excellent location, comfortable beds and amenities like coffee/tea in room, good showers, very clean and tidy. Free water, breakfast, snacks including ice cream etc was a GREAT touch! Water in particular is just a great thing to do for guests. Staff are fantastic!

The only thing but it’s a big thing - the rooms are boiling hot and the only air con is a portable unit which isn’t connected to anything. It’s one where the hose needs to go out of the window but it isn’t fitted so it tends to fall out and pump hot air back into the room. It was 32 degrees every day and only got down to 27 at night. I loved everything else about the hotel but with temperatures like that becoming more common, investing in built-in air conditioning is going to be vital. At colder times of year I’m sure it’s fine though!

The location was good! We were a short walk from Zürich HB and an easy walk to the shops, museums and other areas. Everyone working for the hotel was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was consistent and early enough to allow for our morning departures. The free water, ice cream and fruit/pastries in the lobby were a nice bonus when we had to come and go quickly at odd hours. We were there twice during some of the hotter days this summer (mid-30s C/low-90s F). The hotel provided both fans and a portable mini AC during that time that kept our room pleasant during our stay.

The linens (towels, blankets) were a little bit limited by default for two people, but you can always ask for extra. On hot days when you want to keep the window open at night, there is a little bit of extra noise from the nearby clubs and bars, but that is unfortunately outside of the hotel’s control. 

I stayed in a single room, it was perfectly adequate for my needs ; exceptionally clean, all the staff were delightful and very helpful. We arrived late on Saturday, to be welcomed by a very cheery gentleman. Breakfast was very good and service impeccable. The free ice cream and minibar were very welcome. I had forgotten to pack a comb , they provided one free of charge. I would have no hesitation staying here again. My father was equally as pleased with his stay.

If was being exceptionally picky, I would say it would have been nice to have a couple more sachets of coffee in the room, but had I asked room service for them, then I feel there would have been absolutely no problem in them providing more.

Rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff were fantastic - patiently answering all of our questions and offering lots of help. The location was very good also. We were close enough to the areas we wanted to visit to walk to them. Also close enough to the train station to walk there when we arrived and left. We loved that when we arrived there was a fridge in the reception that had an assortment of cold drinks that we could take anytime. There was also a small freezer with individual cups of ice cream that were available anytime. I tried several flavours. They were delicious!! I would definitely stay again.

Comfortable bed - pillows soft - but we had a good nights sleep for one of our two nights stay. The fridge was full of Free drinks -Very much appreciated in the very hot weather. No air-conditioning but they provided a fan which kept us cool. We were offered free gelati cups every evening when we returned to the hotel.. Breakfast was superb - great selection - served in a beautiful dining room. Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke reasonable English.

Staying there on a Friday night was bad news. Very noisy from nearby cafes which was bearable noise, but all the drunken yelling and breaking of glass from midnight onwards right outside our room, meant very little sleep. We needed the windows open because the nights were so hot.

Great location, easy to walk to, even with wheeled luggage, from the main railway station. Central to any number of shops and places to eat. Comfy bed, good light-blocking curtains and shutters. Mini bar included in the rate, complimentary still and sparkling water in reception. Nice breakfast, plenty of choices for all tastes

Lighting is poor. 4 small, torch-like lights are insufficient. At least 1 decent size ceiling light is needed. Push button lights make it difficult to tell if the light is on (and not working) or off.

Super clean and friendly staff made the stay very accomodating. The free mini bar was exceptionally refreshing after a long day, and breakfast was delicious. I brought the wrong euro plug, but room still had a British outlet which was convenient. Would definitely stay here again given the chance :)

Bit of a nitpick but the room could get a little warm in the afternoon sun (mid September). Thankfully room came supplied with a fan and the nice minibar fridge to counter this :P
