Hotel Escala Siglo XXI

- big, spacious rooms - big bed, actually huge bed - huge windows with view on CDMX panorama - fantastic place - a lot of shops and food places around, close to metro - quite safe place - quiet room / quiet hotel - parking place - wooden furniture making room kind of romantic - shower - warm water immediately - although there was no AC - was not hot, it was even cold from time to time - very helpful staff

- WiFi is really fast. but sometimes works, sometimes not. - very hard mattress on the bed - wall socket only one - close to bed - nor sure if staff speaks english, rather spanish (anyway, I spoke only spanish)

Clean rooms and bathroom. I was able to check in earlier than their check in time for a small fee. It was great, since I arrived on a red eye and needed a nap before starting the day. They had a great blackout shade which made the room nice and dark. If you are an on the go traveler like me and just need a place to lie your head at night for a beyond reasonable price this is a good place for that.

Thin walls which is the case at most places. I pack ear plugs and face mask always. The traffic at the intersection and my neighbor were a little bothersome but after a full day of running around town all day I was too tired to care. Ear plugs helped. It's off the beater path so tour buses don't generally come pick up at the hotel. Had to take public transportation to meet them else where. It's up to you if you want to take the expense in public transportation into consideration when booking. For me it was still worth it.

Huge bed, huge room, huge window with a great view, large hot shower, large desk (outlets are far from it though). The wifi has poor reviews and yet it's among the fastest internet I've had in Mexico so far (their 5G connection might be new, not sure). It does drop occasionally but great for me overall. The housekeepers have been nice to me. The restaurant has very fair prices, room service no extra charge. This hotel exceeded my expectations big time. I don't know if I got lucky with my room or what. I keep extending my stay.

Only one plug socket to use for recharging my three devices. Desk was too high to use comfortably and no socket near desk for laptop. Windows not sealed so some avoidable noise was heard. Only one lift so long waits to use.

Great staff, very clean and good location.

The bed was rock hard. We both like firm mattresses but this was like the ground.

The hotel staff are very kind and try to help as much as they can. The rooms are clean and comfortable, I would especially like to thank Mrs. Marina who does a great job. There is always hot water. I felt very safe in the street where the hotel is even though at first it seemed dangerous. I have met wonderful people on this trip and I will definitely be back again. The price-performance ratio is fantastic. I stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks and I didn't have any inconveniences (I stayed 2 days longer than planned). I traveled with a ten-year-old daughter who also liked everything.

I didn't like the fact that not everyone speaks English. Behind the reception was a guy who doesn't speak English at all but luckily a guy who speaks it worked in the afternoon - not perfectly but he understands it (although it's positive that both guys were very willing to help and tried to we understand ). WiFi connection is sometimes slow and you can forget to read emails or listen to music on youtube. The bed was quite hard but it was more a matter of taste.

it is a main street that leads you a couple of blocks from the zocalo. The lobby is nicely decorated for Christmas. Staff was friendly and helpful. A small restaurant serves very good Mx cuisine & the prices are vey good. i invited my friends there and they enjoyed it too.

The only that I could say that bothered me was that I found the room did not have enough light in it. Otherwise the room was functional & comfortable.

Rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable. Clean linen but a bit threadbare. Everywhere has suffered with COVID 19. Lots of hot water. Good location if you are a tourist to get to certain places of interest. Out of tourist area. Busses close by and Chabacana metro interchange 7 minutes walk. Desk staff very helpful. I don’t speak any Spanish. Loved the many outside eateries. Especially the one right across the road from the Hotel open 24 hrs. Food excellent and amazingly good value.

Lights were not working, but nothing was done about it. Shower floor sloped wrong way so water gathered and leaked out during the night or day whenever one used the shower. I suggested moving me to another room but that was ignored. Maybe all the showers leak at the base.

Centrally-located, although not in a neighborhood most would walk at night (I did- only 2 blocks from the major N/S train line!) Decor was dated, but stylish (art deco that I loved.) Bathrooms were clean with decent water pressure and staff were friendly and worked to help me (store bags and even help translate details on the phone when I needed to switch hotels to get closer to my early morning flight (at AIFA!).

Everything was acceptable, I just don't want anyone thinking they're going into a new hotel, with perfect lines. It's charming, clean and enough to enjoy your stay!
