Holiday Inn Express London - Dartford, an IHG Hotel

The staff were excellent. Very friendly very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. My gluten allergy was catered for. The staff helped with parking. The breakfast was good (except for coffee!). The room was quiet although so close to motorway Access was excellent and easy to find. Plenty of parking.

The coffee does not meet the taste of non English. It tasted like instant coffee. I know that you can drink the tap water in England but many people might not know that. So either give water in the rooms or explain that the tap water is buvable. It took me a while to remember (I have lived outside of England for more than 25 years) and I was thirsty and there was no water. The lift was not very smooth.

Stayed here for over 20 years, great hotel, plenty of car parking spaces, free, decent wifi, breakfasts early on weekends, decent sized room, great location for working locally

Room rates have escalated significantly and now they have introduced hefty car parking charges so after many years of staying there, may have to consider elsewhere now. Carpets in room quite stained (not dirty) and ideally could do with more than a small foldaway table for workspace. Decent choice at breakfast but the only coffee machine wasn't working one morning.

The room was a lovely size and accessible, The breakfast was a good choice although the bacon was rather over cooked.

That is the first time in our lives we have paid for parking at an Hotel. The floor drain in the wet room was blocked and the bathroom became a paddling pool. We went to reception desk and explained this in the hope that not only would this be put right, but that our room would be serviced. neither of these things happened and we had to go back to reception desk and explain again. This time I am pleased to say that both things happened.

Comfort, and convenience of parking.

Restaurant was too small, and at peak time only 1 staff available to clear tables and same time helping customers to get where to sit. Waiting for a long time to sit myself, had to remove used plates to another table for me to get a place to have breakfast with family. It was the 29/08/23, so the Restaurant staff who worked that morning deserve praise for managing a difficult morning. Recruiting more staff would be very helpful.

On arrival I was checked in promptly in a very friendly manner. Parking was easy and good. My room was on the 2nd floor with a very good size bed with and with adequate pillows. The shower was excellent. Tv, Iron and board, Hair Dryer, Tea/Coffee making facilities. A really good size easy chair (big brother style swivel) plenty of electrical sockets, table for lap top computer. Adequate lighting. Good air conditioning.

Access to the hotel coming from Bexley. You have to approach the main Dartford roundabout M25 junction and come back on yourself to enter the hotel. The traffic at the roundabout was congested with articulated trucks. I suspect that this would be a regular daily occurrence between 3pm - 7pm. So bare this in mind when driving. Otherwise coming from the M25 it's easy.

l would highly recommend and will happily stay there again with or without dog. Free Dog Goodie bag upon arrival was a nice touch. Couldn't find fault which for me is a plus because l go by my first experience, so to be greeted with a warm welcome, lovely welcoming clean room and the menu and bar was good too l was impressed. First impressions count. As l say l will be back 😁❤️

The smell of cigarette smoke down the corridor upon leaving not sure which room it was as l thought it was a non smoking motel...

Clean room, friendly staff

Air conditioning at breakfast meant hot food got very cold quick. Kettle in room kept switching on and off on its own, extremely dangerous. Upon inspection element was smoking and smelled of burning. When putting water in to cool down, kettle was sizzling. This was reported to staff. Banged head on low light several times that hang from ceiling when getting out of chair. Large mirror on wardrobe door loose.

Breakfast excellent - self service, ample choice of cold and hot food, staff constantly topping up and available. Bedroom good, bed super comfy, air-conditioning effective. Evening meal good. Reception staff very helpful, polite and efficient. Booking great and complied with special request.

The access from the M25 can be fraught at busy times, and exit onto the main road scary at busy times, with multiple roundabouts intersections and traffic horrendous, avoid rush hour! (Lack of advice re possible access / exit via rear road?)

I loved the reception as I got in. The tall lady I met was a breath of fresh air, all the way down to every single employee I had an interaction with. This is my second time there, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone in Dartford. The customer service was top-notch. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The room was pleasant and clean but for a twin/double there was only one chair because space was at a premium due to the size of the single beds. Having said that we didn't spend much time awake as we were spending time with our grandson during the day and he just keeps going lol.

The fruit juice in the breakfast facility wasn't kept stocked so it was a bit hit and miss whether or not you got what you wanted. The apple was exhausted by the time we took breakfast on the Saturday and the Orange on the Sunday. It didn't really affect our stay too much but you did ask.
