I love every single thing about the aesthetic of this property, and I also absolutely love the location.

I was greeted with a very lukewarm welcome by the front desk girl when I checked in. I also had a hard time getting the attention of staff in the restaurant, and the cocktail waiter who served us in the bar one of the nights was also pretty gruff and unfriendly. Overall I just felt very unwelcome by the staff, almost as if I was an annoyance for even being there. Maybe it’s because there are so many visitors to this hotel and lobby area that are not staying in the hotel. But as a guest I was very disappointed by the staff attitude overall from everyone I interacted with pretty much.

The subway was close by. The breakfast was very good. Room is definitely small but I really like the old architecture of the rooms and lobby.

The pillows are the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel it’s like the air is let out of them when you lay down on them. For the cost of the room please invest in decent pillows.

Lobby bar great - staff lovely and helpful. Room small but no worry: nice & cool, dark at night, calming and cozy.

my room was LOUD! THere was some sort of pipe squealing in the bathroom all night, and the next night too. I booked a second night so it was obvious that I liked things very much, and that the sound did not deter me. But it was annoying nevertheless.

The rooms are beautiful, the staff is exceptional, and a very nice breakfast is included. My room had a small entryway, parquet floor, elegant wood molding, handsome furnishings, fun light fixtures, a big mirror, a closet plus shelving, and plenty of electrical outlets. Small, but elegant bathroom with good ventilation. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was cleaned and tidied every day at no extra charge. Lovely, stylish lobby with fireplace and an espresso bar. Very convenient to Washington Square and NYU. Charming hotel with loads of character!

The rooms are very small with no chairs or desks, but the lobby is a very welcoming and cozy place to sit and hang out or work. The beauty and charm of the rooms make up for the size.

This is a beautiful, unique building. Very "olde world" european ambiance. The continental breakfast was excellent - far more interesting than i was expecting. Great food and lovely presentation.

I was expecting a small bathroom - NYC, older building.....but, although the bathroom had very nice fixtures and tiling, well kept up - the half shower door did not have anything at the bottom to keep the shower water from spilling out onto the floor. Slippery floor, or very soggy towel, but really a potential problem for the hotel if there was a lot of water. We noticed quickly and made sure to mop up the pool!

Mostly location and friendly staff.

My room did not have a small desk or folding chair at which I could work. The available space around the bed in 617 was small but sufficient to have held a folding chair. I was in town due to the medical emergency of my son and had important paperwork work to do, but could not do it while lying in bed or sitting on the john. The lobby was too dark to see what I was working on and the white padded chairs in the lobby were too short for practical work anyway. I will personally never come back to the Marlton due to the inconvenience caused by the lack of a chair with back support in the room.

The room was really cozy, and had a comfortable bed and a great shower. The vibe of the hotel is really nice, the restaurant and lobby area was nice to have drinks in the evening. The location was also really good, accessible to tons of public transit and also by foot if you want to walk. Lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood too!

Unfortunately the room looked out onto a brick wall, which was a bit disappointing. The carpet and floor in the bedroom were a bit dirty, after spilling some water we wiped it up and found it was completely black... The staff also seemed quite unhappy, especially at the restaurant. The restaurant food was hit or miss. The pastries were really amazing and good coffee too, but one day I ordered the oatmeal and it was awful and inedible. Finally while it was a great location in terms of accessibility, at times the street felt a bit unsafe especially in the intersection of the street with the subway.

The Marlton rates high on the charm factor - especially the fireplace in lobby. Lovely bed. Rooms are small but who cares when everything is so smartly arranged. Best location in NYC - great for walking. If you've ever had a fantasy about living in the Village, this is the place to indulge it!

The Marlton is gorgeous! Antique luxury. The admirable design preserves the antique finishes and fixtures - rich natural materials like wood, brass, and marble - while integrating modern comforts. Everywhere my eyes landed, the color story felt right. The lobby, bar, and restaurant areas flow nicely. We enjoyed breakfast in the sunny atrium. The elevator has an old-fashioned dial-type floor indicator which made me happy every time I had to wait for it! The old, ornate button panel inside includes a key fob security feature emblematic of the hotel as a whole: "updated antique." Our room was tiny - as expected in Manhattan - but cleverly fitted out to make the best use of space. I found it easy to store and retrieve items in the closet as it has plenty of hangers and cubbies. Granted, I'm used to city living. We slid a suitcase under a bed which is high, on legs, on a lovely flatweave rug. No dust bunnies! Everything was immaculately clean. The room was nice and bright. Wainscoting makes it feel warm but the design is still minimal and retrained, with an open feel. I have nothing but praise for the interior design! The beds were super comfy. The bathroom seamlessly blends an antique look with the comfort of a modern facility.

A continental breakfast is included with a few options other than pastries which is good. Lattes were hit or miss, though, depending on the expertise of the server. No USB ports in the outlets, a minor inconvenience. BYO.

The location of this hotel was excellent, being on a quiet street very close to the heart of Greenwich Village. Midtown and the theatre district etc. are a 10-minute subway ride away. The hotel itself has a charming old-fashioned vibe.

The complimentary breakfast is very poor quality - skip it and go to one of the excellent diners nearby (the Waverly on 6th Avenue was our favourite). On the day we left, the hotel booked a car to take us to the airport; we waited in the lobby for half an hour before I enquired at the desk and was told the driver had arrived and been told by the doorman that we'd already left?! On checkout I was told that my receipt would be emailed to me, but I haven't received it. Apart from these minor niggles though the service was very good.
