Washington Square Hotel

It is a great hotel with a good atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautiful art everywhere. It is clean and the location is just perfect.

It was disappointing that there was only breakfast in the weekend. Having a hotel breakfast is one of my favorite parts of the hotel experience. Also not so nice was that the window had a view on a dark wall about two feet away, so effectively there was no window and I wish I had known that during booking. Finally, even though I visited in the heart of winter, and it was very cold outside, the room temperature was 78 degrees F so I had to turn on the AC to be able to sleep.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to NYU and the Village. w 4 St subway stop (A B C D E) is very close.

It's a food desert. They have discontinued breakfast service, have no room service, no mini-bar; even the vending machines have been removed. There is a connected restaurant that only does breakfast on weekends, If you want a snack or a soda in the evening, you could go a few blocks to the CVS. It's surrounded by restaurants and coffee houses, so you have options.

Fantastic location, all employees were super helpful and kind. If you are traveling solo or with adults it's perfect.

It is radiator heat so it was pretty hot in the room unless I opened a window, which is a normal old building thing. I traveled with a small child and wouldn't necessarily recommend this hotel for toddlers just because of the stairs and no refrigerators or microwaves in the room. First time mom and didn't think of it when I was booking!

The staff and room were great. Everyone was so so accommodating and wonderful, they let us store our luggage before check in and after check out without question or hassle. Location was amazing

My only dislike was the lack of a mini fridge. Probably personal preference but there were times in the summer heat I would have loved to bring desserts or food or drinks back to the hotel and keep to enjoy later but could not due to lack of refrigeration. Would have preferred to swap the keurig for a place to store cold drinks and food!

The location is amazing, just off one of the coolest parks and squares in New York. The staff are efficient, welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is convenient to have breakfast in. The room was clean and generally well maintained.

Some areas in the hotel and the room need renovation. The restaurant offers breakfast only during the weekend. Last but not least, we arrived in the early morning from a trans-atlantic flight and I had a business meeting at noon. When I called from abroad the day before to ask if early check in was possible, I was told that I must book the room (which evidently was vacant) for the night before, which I did. While a surcharge for such an early check in is obvious, this was exorbitant. Probably the most expensive morning shower I ever had.

checkin fast and easy; parking one block away for $45/day (you could park farther away for $32); bed very soft; 3 layers of curtains to keep out noise and light; good coffeemaker; can just walk out the door into Washington Square which is very lively even now with only partial reopening; LBNL, room price $200 when nearby hotels are charging $300-400;

lack of even continental breakfast, with COVID as excuse (we stayed at motels during the lockdown where they bagged your breakfast and handed it to you, for example); room size just a little larger than a cheap cruise ship cabin; high prices in the attached restaurant North Square (average dishes in high $20s while nearby restaurants provide great meals for under $20);

The staff were very welcoming and polite. I was upgraded to a deluxe queen room without asking. The bedroom was comfortable and I really liked the room supplies (toiletries, coffee, tea, robes, bedroom slippers). The location is very central and close to NYU.

The room wasn’t sound proof. The sounds from within and outside the hotel kept me up for a while. The floor plan was a bit confusing. The floor that I stayed on was like a maze. The restaurant’s meal options were limited although they seemed reasonably priced (I ended up not eating there). I wish they had supplied complimentary water in the room which I was expecting of a property of that caliber.

First of all the location of the hotel is fantastic. It’s right next to W4th street station which easily gets you up and down Manhattan with lots of options. there is also and exit to the train at Waverly Pl just one block from the hotel so that’s perfect. It’s also close to the Christopher St station with even more options. Second, the staff is so friendly, accommodating and lovely, especially the doorman! The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like as such but there are some improvements that could be made. The quality of the shampoo/conditioner could be better, the general decor of the hotel and the rooms feels a bit outdated so it could use a renovation.

Location est perfect, the beds are super confortable the staff is great and extremely king I big thank you to Pedro for fixing our AC. The thermostat was not working. Collettes does a great job cleaning. She us extremely nice and reorganised the room for us. The gym is great, lots of gadgets

More dusting, there was a lot of dust on the frame of the beds, the night lamps.
