Arlo SoHo

The moment I arrived to check in, it was clear this was the place to be. The hotel is located in a lively area with lots to do. The location is perfect since it is right near a bunch of restaurants, downtown, and the water walk. The staff are SO sweet and the service is incredible. We had the best time! I visited the coffeeshop in the lobby daily, got some work done at the desks on the main level, went to the nice rooftop restaurant, and took a run right out the front door! Thank you so much for an amazing stay and I will definitely be recommending this place to others!!

the room was really good and functional for the space. The hotel location is really perfect, walkable distance from the Chelsea market, the High Line, Soho, West village etc! We even walked to Brooklyn Bridge (it took us about an hour on a casual pace). Breakfast at the restaurant was really delicious! We recommend the polenta/mushroom dish and the avocado toast!

The water pressure in the shower and temperature seem to be linked. I would have preferred 2 buttons to adjust accordingly. The toilets are in the bathroom and due to the sliding door it is true than intimacy is rather reduced and everyone in the bedroom can hear everything in the bathroom.

The location of the hotel is perfect, about 8 minutes walk to all the Soho shopping areas; and unlike time square hotels, you can enjoy some quietness here at night and generally light traffic after 8pm even for Labor Day. We had a king bed room but the room is smaller than we thought, but I think this is a new concept for hotels in NY, i.e., cube rooms. The window is right next to the bed and there is no space between the bed and the window, no closet but there is hangers/hooks for a few clothes. The room is clean and has all we needed, but it would be great if they have coffee pot. The service is fantastic. We drove to NY and needed parking, the staff offered us valet parking for the first 24 hours and candidly told us there are free parking nearby during the weekend including Monday as a national holiday. The checking-in process was also pretty smooth. The lobby is beautify, like a coffee store, and good for people to work and chill. We are happy with our stay and will choose Arlo in the future.

Just that the room could be bigger with this price; and I really hope there was a coffee pot. Additionally, we waited for 40 minutes for the room to be ready after we arrived, but it's probably because a room at higher floor became available just after we arrived, and we told the front desk person that we were willing to wait.

Arrival and departure were quick and easy. The staff are very nice and helpful. The neighborhood is wonderful. The room, although very small, was a nice space.

There were several things in the room that didn't work - The drawer under the bed opened by itself all day, and all night, long. An engineer came and "fixed" it, but it never stayed closed for more than a few minutes. The soap dispenser in the shower fell apart every day. The cleaners never came to make up the room before 4:00pm - sometimes as late as 6:30 in the evening.

The hotel's energy is excellent. Everyone at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. The rooftop bar is beautiful, and the food and cocktails are very delicious. Although the rooms were a bit small, the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

Two issues were bothersome. Firstly, the presence of shower curtains in the bathrooms was unhygienic and uncomfortable when they touched the body. It is suggested that curtains should no longer be used. Secondly, the bathrooms had a problem with water retention after showering. Additionally, the rooftop bar could have been more welcoming and friendly towards hotel guests. During our four-night stay, on three occasions when we went to eat or have a drink, we were treated as strangers due to not having a reservation.

great location near Canal St station & an easy walk to great shopping & dining areas; the staff are really friendly & helpful; the roof top bar is amazing as is the speak easy bar with jazz; we had a king room with street view which was great & not as noisy as we were expecting for NYC. there’s a little bodega in the lobby which is very cool also. very comfy bed!

nothing major at all - we couldn’t figure out how to turn on bathroom fan & some other switches/charges didn’t work. we raised the USB charger not working with staff & it got fixed that day which was great. the room is small as advertised but it did feel smaller! we had two backpacks which were fine but floor space is limited so a suitcase would be really tricky.

The property was great. It had a really modern relaxed vibe to the place. It was decorated in a really contemporary style. It was really clean and the location was great near the great shops and restaurants of Soho. The staff were all friendly and helpful. A guy called Edwyn was really helpful and friendly on our last day helping us with luggage storage and making sure we got back to the airport by arranging travel back to JFK on time for our flight home.

I would of liked coffee/tea making facilities in the room, I like to have coffee as soon as I open my eyes but you were able to pop down and buy it from the coffee bar/shop next to reception that was open 24/7.

Arlo SoHo exceeded my expectations from 3/31-4/3/23. I learned about this hotel when I lived in the city 4 years ago as I used to do workout classes on their rooftop and I said to myself if I ever move out of NYC, I would love to stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive from the front desk folks, to the bar staff upstairs, to the doorman, David. When I checked in the front desk man gave me a free drink ticket because he said I waited too long for him to check me in, which I didn't feel was too long. Then there was David. As I had a few hours to kill ahead of my flight, I worked in the common area, and he asked if I needed a shuttle to the airport, I told him I didn't as I was taking a Lyft and he gave me a suggestion to book the Lyft in advance as the tunnel traffic backed up around rush hour, when I needed to leave. When it was time to go he was very hospitable and put my luggage in my Lyft driver's car and even held my Lyft driver's door for him and said he takes care of those who take care of his guests. I loved the rooftop bar. The weekend I was there was the first time it opened for the season. The drinks were amazing and the servers were extremely friendly. Great people watching too :) I loved the snack selection at the bodega too. I picked a few items there. I loved the modern contemporary style of the room and the shower products offered that smelled like coconut. I love how they left fortune cookies on my bed and then two complimentary cans of water in the mini-fridge. Last, but not least the location was amazing! It's off Hudson Street, which is not very touristy and more so local, which I like. Previously living in NYC, I always tend to avoid Midtown at all costs. The hotel is a short walk from the Spring Street A/E station and Canal St 1 station, so it is definitely easy to get around the city from here. Oh yes, and SoHo is only a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, not bad at all!

The room was a bit smaller than expected. I didn't like that the sink was outside the room and not inside the bathroom. It was also a bit noisy outside my window and I could hear the a/c or city noise.

The staff was very helpful with my needs and some unexpected reservation adjustments. I like the location and interior design. I like the coffee bar.

The room with 2 twin beds was smaller and different looking than the picture. The exposed bathroom lacked privacy, which was uncomfortable for my colleague and I sharing a room. I missed some of the highlights from earlier years, like the gift shop that used to be in the lobby and the cozy cafe bar that used to look into the patio downstairs. The downstairs bar and the rooftop bar were also under construction. So I was bummed to miss some of the things I fell in love with originally at this hotel.

Even though it was very small (even smaller than some other rooms I have occupied in NYC), the room was well appointed and actually very comfortable for one person. There was an obvious attention to detail resulting in adequate hooks and shelves to put one's things. The room felt a little like staying in a luxurious airstream or small cabin, FUN!

For the two nights that I was there, my AC did NOT work at all and it was well over 90 degrees in NYC. I repeatedly & politely asked the desk to look into this and they said they would on 4 separate occasions (in the a.m. after my first night, when I returned to the hotel late afternoon, after dinner and I even waited until 11:30 p.m. on the second night I was there for the engineer to come, but no one ever showed!) This IS definitely NOT good service! When I checked out, I was told by Stephanie (front desk) that a deduction would be made to my bill as a gesture (room 310, under my Colleague's name Richardson), but to my knowledge, this has not occurred.
