Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown West

The location was very good and the rooms were very spacious and clean and the house keeping was very well done. They had 4 elevators making it very comfortable reducing the wait time. Breakfast was not included in my room but there is a restaurant/ cafe inside the hotel which is very reasonable in terms of pricing and they have take away service and opens at 7am which is very convenient. I also used the dry cleaning service which they have express service and delivery the laundry to your room. The business is center is very small with 2 computers and you can print with free access in black and white. The hotel is located right in front of Hudson Yards which is also very convenient for shopping.

During late midnight I realized there was slight noise between the walls and could hear people talking on their phones inside the rooms.

First of all, this is a very good hotel and highly recommended for any type of travel purpose or group. I guess this is a new hotel and accordingly, everything was spotless, clean, and smartly designed. The entire team was amazing, responsive, friendly, and very helpful. Best wishes to everyone from top management to every single personnel. Especially Thales and Elizabeth at the front desk was super helpful and cool. The location is amazing, you are not in the middle of the NY riff-raff craze, but close to everything of your choice. Hudson Yards is super close and Penn Station is 3-5 min walk. There is a 24h River Food Market next to it and there are lots of choices of wraps, burritos, smoothies, snacks, etc. also very convenient Whole Foods is 1 min away for daytime grabs. Rooms are cleverly designed both for leisure and business with spacious desks and chair, bathroom, comfy beds, super relaxing lighting, lots of usb and plug chargers. I recommend booking double bedrooms if available for more space and convenience. I stayed in two phases, my 2nd one is a king-size bed + armchair one and missed my 1st room with 2 queen beds :) You can log in to your Netflix or other streaming accounts on TV which is cool. The wardrobe space is not so spacious but there is a complimentary laundry with a dryer which is very efficient for long-time stay. This is a crowded 399 room and highly circulated hotel with guests, I have never seen the front desk empty without anyone checking in or out at any time. But you never feel that crowd plus elevators are abundant and fast. Rooms and windows are literally soundproof, sometimes you forget that you are in NY. Highly recommended.

There are two things if I have to find something negative. - Room card readers in the elevators need at least 3-4 secs to read your card to be activated. We experienced this few times and complained to front desk and they immediately told us to hold our cards longer. Then with this wisdom :) I educated many people with this info :). Maybe they can put some sign about this in elevators. - Little wi-fi symbol like card reader caps on the room door always drop when you close your door. Not a big deal, but can be improved.

good central base. Hudson Yard within 2min walk. Short 10mins walk to Penn Station / Maddison Sq Garden. Great subway links. Empire State View well worth it. Clean property, covid secure and all staff friendly. Late check out was accommodated without issue. we requested some tea & coffee to be replenished and a broken ironing board reports - these were actioned immediately. Tip using Staten Island Ferry for Statue of Liberty - take midtown St George ferry back ($2.75) you see more of the skyline views, beautiful at night and get off 15 minutes walk 5 blocks from hotel. we would definitely return

The staff let us check in early. That was very convenient for us since our flight arrived so early. They also upgraded the room for us. The hotel is very clean and well decorated. The location was perfect, we basically walked to most attractions. Vessel and the edge were literally right down the street. We were impressed with overall experience. We will definitely stay there again in the future!

Friendly Staff. The rooms are rather big compared to NY standards.

The room next to the service elevator was too loud. If you stay there, tell them you want some distance from it. It‘s not only the elevator itself, but also the staff that is working there from early in the morning.

One lady at front desk during late night shift was very rude when I was getting stuff from vending machine, I had asked if I can take it to my room n let them know what I got at the check out. As I am walking the 2nd night to get chips, she stopped me and made it look like I am stealing n made a note of my room n stuff I got, this was very rude since it’s honor system and I m paying enough per night that I don’t need to lie about the 2 dollar chips I m getting, so please train your late night staff females ( around 1-3am) to be civil and not make a big deal about vending machine items Another lady in the morning shift made up for it and was super nice to me.

The hotel feels new in a city that can feel worn down. It’s off the beaten path in a newer area that isn’t as congested as the central part of Manhattan/Midtown, yet still only 2 blocks from Penn Station and 1 block from the express 7 Metro line to Grand Central. Love that. Dog’s are accepted with no fee (except for incidentals, understandably). That one reason will always have me look at this property first when visiting NYC. Whether Fido is with me or not.

For some reason housekeeping did not come in our room this time to remove a bag of trash (togo food containers all bagged up on the floor. I had seen the staff in the hall and had let them know we were leaving & there was some trash in our room to take out) or to make the beds. Not sure what happened there but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Kinda funny when a bottle of water costs you $4 inside the hotel and the vendor car directly outside the door sells it for $1. 😅

The best part of my stay was the staff. They are exceptional. The Manager Michael along with his front desk staff (Robbi, Brandon, Chantella, Afi, Daniel & John) were super accommodating considering the flight cancellations in the area for the time of travel. They provided excellent customer service from helping to extend stay and provide late check out options as well as helpful information regarding shopping and attractions in the area.

The room was smaller than expected and the gym was under repair. In addition Booking.com has a picture of a pool in the hotel and I was dissappointed that there was no pool at all. Cleanliness was I guess average, the counters in the room were dusty.

The room was big enough for us 4, with a wonderful view on Manhattan, because it was a high floor room. It was quiet and everything was clean and well organized. The sound isolation was good, we didn't hear any noises during the night and we slept well, also because the beds are comfortable. The wifi works well. The TV was huge, with good Internet connection and good services. The hotel is well located, close to nice restaurants (The Spanish Market, for instance) and The High Line. The price was not too crazy for a hotel like this in New York City. The receptionists were attentioned and welcoming. It was so nice that we came back a second time for our last night of our trip in the USA/Canada. It was a very pleasant stay.

The gym was closed due to maintenance, however the receptionist offered to visit the gym of another Marriott hotel not far from ours. This was a good solution. The airco was good, but a bit noisy. Also, the refund of the deposit has taken too long. We asked the reception and they said it takes long because it is an international payment (10 to 14 days, not counting weekends). We received the 1st refund, but we are still waiting for the 2nd one!
