Arlo Midtown

The location was amazing! Very close to all the hustle and bustle of 7th Ave and Times Square but, far enough away to still feel like you are in a cool, friendly New York neighborhood. I was really impressed.

There was nothing I didn't like. It was a great experience!

My husband and I decided to stay overnight in the city for my birthday. We arrived at the hotel around 1 and anticipated that our room would not be ready for 3pm check in. To our surprise, our room was ready and early check in was waved! Our check in with Blake was seamless, and he informed us of all the amenities within the hotel. We were then shown to our room by Gurkan who also helped us with our luggage. Our King room was spotless, and also had an amazing view. We decided to check out the hotel before heading out for the day. ART Midtown (rooftop bar): amazing views and skilled bartenders. Highly recommend the Honeydew Negroni. Bodega: Surprisingly great coffee! The store also offers small bites, cold drinks, and beer. Fitness center: Includes a wide range of fitness equipment. Includes towels and a water-bottle filling station. City Bike: Alex at the front desk helped us with our complimentary City Bike day pass, which includes a $10 voucher. My husband and I absolutely loved them. Bells & Whistles: Arlo has great add on’s for your room including wine & food options. My husband had a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries delivered, and the hotel even threw in an additional sweet treat. Overall an amazing stay. Elevator system was a little confusing at times, but you get the hang of it.

Food was very good, best coffee I've had in USA (noting thats a low bar) staff were (mostly) very nice, room appears small but actually is a genius design which uses every space very effectively. Bed was very comfy, shower a good size, every power socket also has USB sockets. Fast elevators, elegant but cool spaces in the lobby/bar/restaurant area. On-site coffee shop. Easy walk to lots of NY shopping and tourist sites.

The room was a little noisy from other guests and some mechanical noise (elevators?). Also, being NY, there is always noise from police cars/ambulances/fire trucks 24x7. The rooms, and everything, are mind-numbingly expensive, so its good that overall the quality was very high. Food choices were a little limited, but okay for a few days stay. Our room faced the street, which is narrow, so we could see right into the hotel opposite, and vice versa. Some net curtains would be really good to prevent this.

I can't tell enough good things about this hotel, starting with the staff: everyone was simply wonderful and genuinely kind. Unfortunately, I became sick with Covid and had to quarantine during most of my stay, meaning I have spent quite a while within the room, which was as follows: - I had a King City View located on the 17th floor, which was a corner room; - The room was DEAD QUIET from the inside out. I did not hear a peep during my entire stay (10 days), whether it be from other guests, elevators, or traffic; - The room was reasonably clean and bright. Despite the smaller size, the two big windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom helped give a feeling of openness and light. - Bed was comfortable and had an open space underneath to accommodate a suitcase or two. Again, I can't thank the staff enough for all their support during a troubled stay and will never forget how caring and helpful everyone has been to me. A big thank you.

Very welcoming with helpful staff. Ideally located and an easy walk from Times Square and some great diners. Rooms were lovely, amazingly comfortable beds. Would love to have stayed longer than our 3 night stay and felt envious of those just arriving as we departed! The roof top view was fabulous by day and by night. Loved having coffee and relaxing in the lounge areas at breakfast time before the busy sightseeing day ahead.

Breakfast is incredibly expensive and the hotel charges obligatory extra 20% gratuity which you find out only when you're paying. This is pure rip off. I don't understand why you don't raise the price on the menu by 20% but you put it as a surprise on the bill instead? This is only reliable way how to piss off anyone. What a nonsense is obligatory 20% gratuity? Gratuity is expression of my satisfaction with the service and not obligatory mark up on bill. We will never come back and this is my recommendation to anyone who might be considering to stay in this hotel.

Roof top - very friendly staff - elevators were fast - on site coffee shop was great - the large windows that opened in the bar area were cool

No laundry room on property. I know y’all could send my laundry out but I wanted to do it myself on site.

We had a great price for this room. Was a little wary after reading some reviews of how small rooms were but we thought it was absolutely fine. The bed is huge and very comfortable(there is space under the bed for suitcases. Storage wasn’t a problem and we didn’t travel light-2 main suitcases and a small carry on plus a rucksack. Found space for it all. Loved the shower, toiletries provided were lovely and in large quantities not fiddly little bottles. Loved the lift system.

Sometimes the reception area was very noisy and that sound travelled up to the rooms as they face out towards reception and it’s an open tunnel for noise to travel but wasn’t too problematic.

Superb location, central yet out of the fray of Times Square, sits between Hell’s Kitchen and Hudson Yards just two blocks west of Times Square. Walkable to theatre district, also fun to walk the hi line down to Chelsea, Greenwich Village (or take subway or Uber) and SOHO. 45-60 minutes from JFK and Uber very reliable. Brand new sparkling clean property, fabulous lobby with coffee shop and bar, lots of seating area in front of fireplace, private rooms, seating on terrace and green plants everywhere. Everyone that works at Arlo friendly and helpful! I upgraded to a city king well worth the money! My room was on the 24th floor, corner with view of the Empire State Building, New Yorker and Hudson Yards, it was stunning. Rooms are definitely small but we know this about Manhattan and worth the trade off for uniqueness of boutique hotel vs the chains; (a Marriott or Hilton experience vs a New York experience.).

No coffee maker in rooms is a lack of convenience and increased money expenditure. Coffee shop in lobby doesn’t open until 7am, there are options within a few blocks that open earlier (Dunkin’ Donuts down 9th Ave, Starbucks up 9th Ave).
