Homewood Suites Midtown Manhattan Times Square South

It’s like a clean oasis from the city hussle and… let’s face it - grime. As soon as you step into the lobby you go “ Ahhh”. We love NYC but it is somewhat overwhelming too. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. It was wonderful to come back to after a whole day of walking in the city. We were there on really hot days so it was especially great to feel the crisp AC in the room. My daughter said it’s amazing how quiet the room was, given that as soon as you stepped onto the sidewalk, you could hear all the noise. The location was perfect. Just a few blocks from Times Square and Empire State Building. The Breakfast. Oh my gosh. Nutritious, delicious and plentiful. It would be busy every morning but they never ran out of anything! Each day they served something different. Plenty of seating despite it being busy. We ate a lot to give us energy for the sightseeing and walking. We stayed 4 nights and each day our room was tidied up and we were given a few fresh towels ( but we tried to reuse ours) We will stay there again for sure!

Sometimes it took a long time to use the elevator.

Great Staff!!! Warm, friendly and very helpful! They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Breakfast was great, staff did a great job at keeping food trays filled and clean. The room although small, was well designed to be comfortable and kept clean by housekeeping. Good location from Times Square, 10 min walk. Don’t expect to see the ball drop from this location though. Staff facilitated storage of online shopping deliveries with no hesitation. Just 3 blocks away from subway. No free parking available but where in NYC is? Short duration 10 to 20 mins parking was available if needed in front hotel.

One of three elevators was not working for almost our entire stay and during peak season, waits were very long. Laundry coin machine was unreliable and coins were not always available at front desk. Got coins at the CVS round the corner. Only 1 washer and dryer were working out of 3 washers and dryers. Dirty sidewalks around hotel… but this appears to be a city problem since it was observed every where in Manhattan. It was sad to see that there are also homeless persons around the sidewalks especially during nighttime. But this appeared to be an issue throughout the city.

Great location near times square and Penn station, nice rooms with sufficient kitchen utensils. The bed is big and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is really good. The staff are nice and helpful.

WiFi is awful. I did not experience such slow and unreliable internet in last 15 years. To make matter worse, the rooms did not have good cell coverage either, so using own mobile data was also not an option.

The staff was friendly and eager to help, especially Justin and Anna. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day. A fully equipped kitchen made us comfortable to cook our food when bored eating out. The hotel provides coffee, hot chocolate, and tea 24 hours in the lobby. Every Wednesday, they also provide soup, salad, and cookies in the lobby for us to take as much as we like We got the american standard breakfast, but the food could have been more exciting since they provided the same menu every day. Overall we were very happy and comfortable during our 11 days stay.

The staff was super friendly from the beginning, even though they were busy. We arrived before check in time and they offered to keep our luggage until the indicated time. Our dog was welcomed by everyone. The breakfast was good! The hotel decoration and facilities exceded our expectations! The room was spacious and had all we needed. All beds were comfortable, including the sofa-bed. The room was very clean when we came in.

I wished the tiny grass are in the rooftop was allowed for dogs, due to the lack of green areas in the neighborhood area. There were some loud discussions of other hosts in the hallway at night.

The staff was always very was nice and helpful. We liked this place very much. It was closed to a lot of touristic sites and subway stations. Although it might looked like an inconvenience, the fact that your room was not access all the time to be cleaned gave you a sense of privacy. Besides, you will get the service just by dialing the front desk. We made sure to keep it as organized as possible. We always received the support whenever requested. I don´t remember any issue that was not solved as soon as possible. Most important: we did not feel any unpleasant noises.

We liked everything: the location, the people, the breakfast, the room (the kitchenette) and the terrace on the top floor. Probably the sofa bed could be improved to make it more comfortable.

The staff at Homewood Suites was exceptional. Always very courteous and quick to help or solve a problem, if we had one. The daily breakfasts were delicious and had lots of variety. We also loved the location. It was right by the Penn Station and Port Authority bus terminal. Times Square was a 5 minute walk as was MSG! The view from the roof top lounge was AMAZING! We look forward to going back!

The only downfall to our trip was that there are 22 floors and only 3 elevators. So we spent some time waiting as we weren't on a lower level floor where taking the stairs was an option!

The highlights are: a good and very comfortable bed, a shower with a strong water flow, good amenities. The room also has a fridge, kitchen and tableware that really comes in handy at some point of the stay. Also, the hotel service in general is well thought for the guest self service in many aspects, and provides everything you need for this: buffet breakfast and boxes so you can help yourself and either sit down right there or take the breakfast to your room or somewhere else if you need. A great plus: has complimentary coffee at all hours. The hotel staff was really great, each of them always nice and helpful giving the extra mile. One special thanks to Felix Liabeta who was always attentive to where he could help.

One aspect for improvement for instance, is that our room did not have a full (or 3/4) body mirror. Also, waiting for the elevator would sometimes take a while, so we would take the stairs instead. Finally, the hotel is located in the garment district - a very convenient location as it's near the subway and within walking distance from Times Square, but in the surrounding blocks of the hotel it was very frequent to see drug addicts injecting themselves in plain sight - day or night - and even though there was no security incident at all, it's not an ideal situation specially if when you are with kids.

The staff was outstanding, and the breakfast was huge, diverse and delicious. The location of the hotel was excellent in terms of reaching the subway and walking to nearby attractions, and the rooftop was awesome. This was my kids' first trip to NYC, and this hotel was the perfect base for them to enjoy the city while feeling comfortable at a nice but affordable hotel while we were there for more than a week.

The room was kinda small, but honestly, it's about what I expected in a city where real estate is at a premium. I knew it wasn't going to be huge, and it was large enough for our purposes.
