Doubletree By Hilton New York Times Square West

Superb location. 15 min walk to Times Square and most Broadway shows. 5 mins to MSG and easy train to Jamaica / airport. Staff friendly and rooms clean. Couldn’t pick a better location and hotel for exploring NY. Don’t worry about the homeless comments, we felt safe at all times and it’s no different to any city in the UK.

Nothing really - We were anticipating the rooms to be small - they are, but not as drastic as people make out. It’s a double bed, wardrobe, 43” TV and a decent sized bathroom.

Great location, close to Times Sq., but not too close Very courteous staff. I stayed there for 12 days, and it was a great stay, just because of the staff. Special mention about 2 staff members - HERENDY (Who cleaned my room). My room was very messy since I had shopped a lot, she cleaned my room, folded my clothes, and freshened the room as if it was new. All this without me even asking. Mohammed at the Lobby is one of the most courteous and hard working persons I have ever met.

The rooms are very tiny, just about as big as the bed. So almost no place to keep a suitcase at all. If a couple is staying in the room, then the suitcase needs to be packed and unpacked multiple times a day. Almost negligible closet space too. But that is New York. The lobby is very tiny and always crowded. I wish they would open up the breakfast area for people to wait and hang out. During rush hour (9am to 11.30am) it may take you upto 15 min to get an elevator ride. So maybe choose a lower floor so that you can take the stairs.

This is the hotel for LOCATION. Easy when arriving from Penn Station, walkable to everywhere. Close to subway entrances. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room is small, but with organisation and cooperation 2 adults and 2 teenagers managed to cope for 4 nights without murder. And the rooftop bar is wonderful (though no fruit juice on the days we went). The views were fantastic, and so quiet and comfortable. Door/concierge was well staffed and we never felt unsafe or uncomfortable coming or going, even late in the evening.

Housekeeping was a little erratic, but fine. Room is small - but that's the trade-off that we were more than happy to accept.

I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the globe and this experience was great, the people working at the hotel are all amazing honestly! Idris from front desk was one of the kindest people ive ever met, same goes for the security guys omar and the other guy from africa, such amazing people. they give you fresh baked cookies everyday and theyre soo good i had to take one with me to Jordan. location is great and rooms are very clean, definitely will keep staying there in every NY visit

Easy walk from Penn Station when I arrived by train. Also took the E subway from there back to JFK, very short walk with a lift straight to platform level. Not too far to Times Square and 20 min walk to edge of Central Park Nice to receive 2 cookies on arrival Fast check in and check out Great view of Empire State building from room

Room on small side and cost high but normal I think by NYC standards.

We checked out and had issues in the airport after a cancelled flight. We arrived back to the hotel after making a booking in the airport again for a new room. When we arrived at 9:20am the staff (andrae) was super accommodating for us and found us a room instantly to go to as check in doesn’t begin until 4pm. We were given warm cookies and water upon arrival. He saved us from an awful lot of hanging around in the extremely cold weather and we could’nt be more appreciative.

There is a public space outside the hotel, there are always 4 or 5 homeless or drug addicts sleeping or sitting on the benches outside. it can be a little daunting walking through them all.

location was great, beds were very comfortable & staff were very efficient.. room was warm and shower was very good.

the room was smaller than expected. there was 3 in our party and with luggage the space was very tight. we had to move from the wheelchair accessible room that was first given as the bathroom door came off the sliding hinge. the second room offered to us was very small & was accessed by the night Porter at 4am. apparently he came in to check the room as it was still showing availability on the computer system. the person who moved us earlier due to the faulty door did not change our booking to another room. Thankfully We were moved again to the family room which was more suitable .

Great location, close to Penn Station, great views from the rooftop bar. North end of the Highline Park not far away, which we enjoyed especially. Bathroom very nice and clean, well thought out details. Staff very friendly and helpful. We appreciate the choice of housekeeping frequency, protecting our environment by avoiding unnecessary laundry.

Fridge very noisy, sometimes it felt as if there were power outages during the night, then some lights flashed and the fridge was extra noisy afterwards. Missing some hooks for clothes, e.g. in the vestibule. Where would you hang your coat, come colder weather??

Nice and clean, rooms are small but it really doesnt matter. Some reviews say the lifts are slow, i never experienced this. They were fine, dont worry about it. Liberty Bagels is just up the road ! Yay! Subway is close by too!

On check in the staff wanted to charge me the day rate rather than the fee on Booking.com. Told them i would pay what was on the booking and nothing more. Was given a hard stare but they gave in. Do not pay more that what is shown on your booking. You do have to pay a security deposit, but no resort fees etc. NY stinks of weed, just get used to it x
