Courtyard by Marriott Times Square West

The security of the place, having to scan your keycard to get into the building. Safes in every room. They let us put our bags in before check in and after checking out (as our flight wasn't until 11pm). The hotel was incredibly keen and the housekeeping staff were friendly and polite. We had an issue with the shower, raised it with reception who had an engineer with us in 5 minutes and fixed it within 20. Unreal service at a fantastic price in an amazing location.

The staff were really friendly, the beds were big and the room and bathroom were really clean. All rooms seem to be near the lift but very little sound travels into the room. There is also a communal area which is spacious and also kept clean.

The lift can sometimes be slow. We had 4 rooms booked and some of them were slightly larger than others but this wasn't really a big problem.

For the amount of time we stayed inside the hotel room, it was worth the value. Clean facilities and room. Friendly and helpful staff.

We didn’t need any additional amenities - not sure what was offered - but a complimentary shuttle service or taxi to the airports would have been nice. We’ve had this with other hotels in the area before and will definitely be selecting one in the future that offers this.

The hotel was great, in a prime location. It was clean, the room was as presented in the photos. The room was large and could easily host a couple or small family, with a large bathroom as well. The staff was very friendly, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy.

The hotel doesn't provide breakfast included in the room, however, they have coffee and a bakery that you can purchase from every morning. However, it would make more sense to just go out and grab a nice cup of coffee from a local coffee shop close by. The electrical outlet was somewhat weird. I could charge my phone and my iPad. However while charging, if I start to use the device, the phone and iPad battery would reduce, rather than increase. As if the electrical current wasn't enough for the devices to be used and charged at the same time. The WiFi is not up to par. For the duration of my stay, I had to mostly use my hotspot because the internet would be good only for 5 minutes after the initial connection, and later it would just not work anymore.

We are very happy that we chose this hotel. It is small, clean and cozy. At the hotel you will be greeted by excellent staff. Very polite, friendly and always ready to help guys. The hotel is in an excellent location, so you can easily get to many of New York's attractions without using public transportation at all. For example, Time Square is just a 5-minute walk, and Central Park is just a 20-minute easy walk. Well, if you need to get to the airport, then just a couple of blocks away is the Penn Station and several metro stations. By the way, the hotel has a great opportunity to leave luggage after you have checked out of the hotel. The room itself is clean and very neatly decorated. Although the room is small, there is enough space for two. Very comfortable and big enough bathroom. Although the city is very noisy, in the room itself is very quiet and very comfortable to sleep at night. Special thanks to Gyselle Bera and Aaron. Very polite and helpful hotel staff. Gyselle was very friendly and explained to us all the facilities and services offered by the hotel when we checked in. And Aaron was very friendly and smiling. We were always glad to see his smile. He helped us a lot with our luggage when checking out and also gave us some small tips to feel more comfortable in this huge city. P.S And most importantly, there are no hidden additional fees in the hotel and our deposit was returned the same day we checked out.

There is nothing we didn't like. Everything met our expectations.

10/10 - location - everything is within walking distance and the closest station covers most other locations 9/10 - room (the king bed was smaller than expected, but still functional) 10/10 - cleanliness (AMAZING)

4/10 - noise (I got a room facing the road and general NY traffic noise bleeding through, with the addition of the AC unit being fairly loud). If you're a light sleeper it might be an issue for you. 5/10 - pillows

Location is excellent. Close to time square. Within walking distance of a lot of things around time square and a stones throw from Penn Station making public transport easy! The room is small but comfortable, exactly what you’d expect from New York. There was a small fridge in the wardrobe which was really useful. Hotel staff are all lovely, we arrived early in hopes that we could check in our bags and Geraldine let us check in earlier than anticipated! They also held our bags on our final day as we had an evening flight!

The outside of the hotel is currently under some form of construction (NO noise though) and is covered in scaffolding. Other than that, little to complain about!

Location is good. Room small but comfortable. good bathroom and shower.

Free WiFi was poor - constantly disconnecting, and require re subscription every day. Could not get a cup of coffee on the premises if your life depended on it, except between 07:00 - 11:00

The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful! The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Beds and pillows were dreamy. The location is great as it was close to Times Square and several attractions all within a quick walk. Penn Station where you can travel to any direction is super close. If you are driving in from the NJ side its literally right out of Lincoln Tunnel. Parking is available at a safe nearby garage. Access to the lobby is controlled by use of your access card so it's not like anyone can just walk in so it's very safe if it's a concern. Great meal options located nearby too! Overall we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend.

Breakfast is just a Starbucks in the "Bistro" which isn't really Breakfast. Breakfast being included in the room rate would be great. If the windows blocked a little more police/siren noise that would be great. However I suppose it is NYC...we thought the sirens would disturb our sleep but they didn't. Perhaps we were too tired from walking around all day!

From my 1st interaction with the Courtyard staff was through the Booling.com messaging system, I thought for certain that I would wait forever if I ever got a response at all \. 10 minutes later not only did I get a response, but I had every question answered, I also made a request that I wasn't sure was actually brought to the staff at the hotels attention until I arrived and every request was noted and honored , what a pleasant surprise. Really, the entire staff was friendly and efficient beyond my expectations. The rooms were very clean, they were a little small but I understand that this is the norm for NYC properties.

I thought that the pillows were uncomfortable with a cheap and overly used feel. That is the only thing that I thought was negative about the hotel.
