Pestana CR7 Times Square

The location of the hotel is great, right next to Hell's Kitchen on 9th ave where all the restaurants and bars are. Spoilt for choice. The Port Authority bus station is 3 minute walk away, we caught the bus into Jersey for shopping at The Mills Outlet Jersey Gardens (Tax free on clothes), Woodbury Gardens Outlet, and Wallmart. There are no real supermarkets in New York anymore, just small 7 11's etc. We wanted to do some clothes shopping, so the bus station was amazing and easy to use for us to get into Jersey for shopping. 42nd street is also good with many attractions and sights to go and visit. We didn't eat at the hotel, we mostly just popped into places we could grab a quick bite like bagels and then rush on to the next thing to see. The room was clean and a standard size, there are a lot of complaints on about room sizes, but it's NY and we didn't go there to spend the holiday in the room. We literally were having the greatest sleep of our lives, we were so tired from being out an about viewing the amazing sights we just collapsed when we got back to the room. For us, no issues with the room at all, enough room for us to do what we needed, room was cleaned every day. The staff are very friendly too, they were able to give us loads of information and never seemed to be rushed when speaking to you, felt like they really appreciated us being there. Get used to the subway, we used this every day, purchasing a unlimited week ticket and we just jumped off and on busses and the underground all over NY, this was a massive time saver. We used some offline MTA subway maps to navigate with a combination of Google Maps and Moovit for the busses. I would stay here again and will be looking when we come back soon. No problems with people, never felt unsafe at any time. We also caught the train from the NY JFK airport from Jamaica to NY Times SQ. We caught the underground a lot from 123 on Times as well, 1 is the express train. Hope this helps someone.

Gym was a little small and having to walk down loads of stairs in the lobby to go to the toilet.

quite some drug use in the street where hotel is situated. the hotel cannot prevent this, I understand that, but never the less it was a downside

Amazing location, easy access to Times Square, the High Line, plenty of restaurants, central park, museums, and Penn Station. Easy to get to. We were able to check in early and leave our bags there after check out until we had to return home. Great service, friendly staff. The fitness center was in the basement and had cardio machines (including a peloton for which you need your own account to do a class but can still use), a large weight machine, and free weights. Overall, a hotel with great value!

The room was smaller than expected with limited room to walk around, but it was clean with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the street.

Location is prime for sure. Bathroom was really nice, loved the floor tiles. Also liked the textured fake grass at the lobby.

the only minus is the cleaning, most of the time the room wasn’t cleaned properly, few times received dirty towels and dirty sheets that was supposed to be clean, hotel soap and shampoo didn’t refilled unless we asked for it specifically, the shampoos got ripped off the wall cause they were glued to the wall and we lived like that for a week cause no one was care enough to fix it unfortunately :/ If the cleaning and overall maintenance was good this hotel can easily be perfect 10 stars hotel. we’ve stayed there for 18 nights.

No real breakfast (just a few bagels and coffee). The lobby bar opens and closes at the pleasure of the bartender. And what is with the resort fee? $22 per day!! This is not a resort. Resorts have big rooms, pools, spas, upgraded workout facilities, are located in nice weather areas. This just a way to rip off guests.

My partner and I planned on staying 2 nights at this hotel. We checked out, and after a couple hours of wondering the city, we decided we weren't ready to leave, and decided to extend our stay for another day. We decided to go with Pestana since they were offering a reasonable rate, and we had a great experience our first 2 nights. Staff was extremely friendly, cheerful and helpful, and we felt they went above and beyond to meet our needs. At least the staff that worked during the day/evening times (the staff that worked late nights/past midnights were definitely not as warm or friendly, and seemed more preoccupied with their own agendas). They accommodated us in terms of printing last minute tickets to a show, storing our luggage until we were ready to collect them, extended late check out for half an hour, and helped us with a missing parking ticket situation. All in all, we felt like some of the staff took strides to ensure guests were fully satisfied with their stay, and we highly appreciated their dedication, and hospitality.

On our 3rd night, we were checked into a different room. Firstly, I noticed that there were no towels in that room so my partner had to request them, and we were only given one set. I didn't complain as I figured it was late, and I could just share with my partner. Then, the toilet we used got clogged, but after multiple attempts at flushing it, the water tank filled up again and we were able to use it. Lastly, we noticed the morning we woke up that unlike the first room we were assigned, there was no complimentary water and coffee, but we didn't want to trouble them so we did not request for it.

Marilyn welcomed us when we checked in and she was fantastic. Very kind and friendly. Made sure we had everything we needed, even got us a room before our check in time. Most staff was very kind. Also liked that they held my bags after checkout for the day so I did not have to carry them around the city with us all day.

Room was small, but did not matter too much as we were not in it long. The shower was small and hard to move around in. I was told breakfast was served at 7am. We had a busy day planned so I was down there at 7am to be told it was 7:30. Went back down at 7:30 and was told the waitress would be there soon. Did not even have contact with waitress until about 7:50. She was very pleasant and apologetic but it was still an inconvenience.

They help us to get everything done. It was also my birthday and they took care of it and decorated our room. Im thankful for how nice and caring they were

Rooms felt with a lot of humidity. We don’t know if we weren’t able to settled the AC the right way but at nights we didn’t have a great weather in the room

The location was fantastic! A few blocks from Times Square, some of the best attractions were within walking distance and there were plenty subway entrances right down the street! The staff was EXCELLENT! Very accommodating, held our bags before and after the stay and we’re extremely friendly. The bed in our room was probably the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel room. The bathroom was lovely, and the rooms were very clean and very well kept. The lobby is very charming and comfortable as well.

The room was a tad small, but not to the point of discomfort and it’s still a great size for the city!
