Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Downtown East

Make sure you get the quiet and not train side - for NYC surprisingly peaceful. Legit Chinatown location - fascinating, gritty, exotic, safe. Incredible food within a few blocks, from adventurous to noodles. Would have preferred to stay further north in Flatiron or SoHo but hotel deal was worth a few extra subway stops. Queen beds, clean, hot shower, great AC, mini-fridge, microwave (grab extra utensils from breakfast for you late-night snacks. Courteous staff, room cleaned in 2 days as requested at check-in. Typical hotel free breakfast staples- scrambled eggs, pre-made omelettes (assume from frozen), bacon, sausage m, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, oj, apple juice.

Being on the train side could have ruined the stay. Massive rumbling roar outside so inside must be bad. If those were 30% cheaper might be a good deal for heavy sleepers. Gritty around back side of hotel - no aggressive panhandling, just some addicts sleeping on sidewalk. Suggest families with small kids ignore GPS which takes you around back /alley and stick to walking on main streets.

The hotel was clean and room was spacious for 3 people (room with two queen beds). Location was near the East Broadway subway station so it was easy to move around the city. Complimentary coffee was available all the time.

Single-use plates, cups and cutlery in the breakfast feels like a huge waste and not the most sustainable choice. Breakfast could have more fresh vegetables&fruits. Bathroom floor was always wet after shower because the shower curtain was not covering enough.

Location was good, walking distance to everywhere, easy to find. This hotel looked like it was built in the last year or 2, very clean. Breakfast was very good many choices. Room was quiet, other than the city noise outside the window, we did not hear any doors slamming, TVs or voices from other rooms, and we were right across from the elevator!

Needed to be fully stocked with towels and washcloths. We were in a room with 2 queen beds, it should be assumed that there are 4 people staying. We had to ask for extra towels and washcloths each night because there was only 2 sets in the room. The size of the room could have been larger but I understand that we were in NYC. Also need more racks to hang towels and washcloths on, 1 is not enough.

What a great hotel, especially for NYC! There were three of us and our room was huge by New York standards. The hotel is less than a ten-minute walk from the Broadway East subway station on the fringes of Chinatown. There are bunches of great small family-run Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. The breakfast buffet offers hot and cold selections with something for every member of the family, including bagels and English muffins. The breakfast room was a real UN when we stayed, with many languages being spoken and smiles shared. Our bathroom was good sized, and there was always plenty of hot water in the copious shower. The room was quiet despite the nearby Manhattan Bridge rail trestle. The fridge and microwave were put to use with the great Chinese food we picked up one evening. In short, I think I’ve found my new New York home-away-from-home!

It’s really not a big deal, but despite having three of us in the room, we only ever received two washcloths. I just plucked one off the maid’s cart one of the days. The last day I requested one from the front desk but we never got it. As I said, no big deal, but since you asked…

Breakfast if quite good for USA. Daily cleaning. 24/7 coffee available (decaf and regular), creamer, surgar, tea, hot/cold water, paper plates and cups. Fridge and microwave in the room. The area has cheap and tasty food around. You can use dining area during the day (not only for breakfast). You can open a window and control A/C. Personnel is friendly. USB type C charger port.

Location of the a/c unit (under the window). Only one nightstand. No kettle in the room. Difficult to use stairs when elevator is busy.

Breakfast is awesome. !

Parking has to pay by customer itself. !

Very friendly staff at breakfast, handyman Juan and ladies from housekeeping and also staff at the reception, clean and pleasant to stay

The area is not attractive, we were a bit affraid walking around the buildings after 5pm with kids, couldn't find the place to eat - all written in Chinese and thiny spaces crowded by staff and their visitors. Most of the time we spent in Manhattan centre.

The room was reasonably spacious. The staff was competent. The breakfast was good for US-standards. Everything was clean. All of Manhattan can be reached reasonably quick via the F-Train. Felt comfortable overall.

AC in the breakfast area was a bit weak. Ice machines are only on every other floor. The area around the hotel seems a bit run down, but I guess that's just NYC.

The staff was incredibly nice especially the cooks serving breakfast and the people at the reception desk. The location was also very close to the East Broadway subway station and near some interesting restraunts like Kopitiam being in Chinatown. Also there was a Chinese grocery store right next door that made it easy to grab snacks.

The bathrooms themselves were fine but they weren't that clean if you look closely. Although close to a subway, it took some time to go to Midtown area of Manhattan though very close if you want to visit Dumbo in Brooklyn.

Didn't spend a lot of time in the room but the beds were comfortable. Rooms were very clean. Was really nice to have a fridge and microwave!

Breakfast could have gone later, but we preferred Chinese buns anyway. In fact, since this hotel is in Chinatown, perhaps more Chinese specialties could be offered. Tea in the room would've been nice.
