Hotel Mimosa

Stayed in March 2023 for a couple of nights. Decent price for Manhattan. Room is spotless clean, bed is comfortable. Excellent bathroom amenities. Receptionist was very accommodating with check-in time and communication. Staff is efficient and very friendly. Received a few Amazon deliveries for me before and during my stay, and hotel was very helpful.

No safe in the room, and some minor extras like water kettle and small closet. No heat/AC regulator in the rooms.

The hotel was renovated during the pandemic and the room was sparkling clean! The location is very close to Chinatown with a lot of food options.

The room is a bit small but it is ok considering it is in nyc. The noise from the nyc subway going over the bridge could still be heard even with thick windows.

The room was very clean and it was easy to get around Manhattan from there. The hotel is not large but it has everything it needs. There are plenty of restaurants nearby but pay attention as they mostly take cash.

The only thing I didn't like is the fact that you couldn't set your room temperature by yourself and the room was constantly very cold. We called the front desk for help and they did raise the temperature but every day the thermostat would reset. Hence, every day we had to call the front desk to ask for help with the temperature.

The hotel is very clean and very quiet and has everything for a comfortable stay. Also liked that the staff were very friendly and it was possible to leave luggage on the day of departure free of charge.

Didn't like the location, on the one hand there are three underground branches nearby and it's very convenient to get to the centre. However, on the other hand the hotel is in a very dirty area and it stinks. This does not make the hotel worse in any way, but it spoils the experience a bit.

The hotel was perfect for a few days in New York. It was 5-10 minutes by foot away from multiple metro stations and 10-15 minutes by foot away from east village, where you can find many nice restaurants and coffee spots, perfect for breakfast. The room was clean, but super small, but this is quite normal in New York. It was quiet and it was possible to darken the room completely with the curtains. On our last day it was possible to store the luggage. Staff was really helpful and check in was even very late possible.

The staff at reception always welcomed us with a smile and went to every effort to ensure we had a good stay. The information on eateries in the area was great. We reported two issues during our stay and these were dealt with completely and quickly. The bed was comfortable. I appreciated that the room would be small but the size was perfectly useable even with two of us and a medium and a small suitcase with us. I liked the option to have the room serviced each day or not. There are plenty of subway and bus stops near the hotel so we had no difficulty travelling around Manhattan and Brooklyn from this location - indeed you can walk across the Manhattan bridge near by which was a fun thing to do one day. We liked the availability of ice in the basement. Bag store on our final day was efficient and incredibly helpful.

The location of the hotel means there is a rumble from the nearby subway at times. It didn't disturb our sleep and the windows are well glazed to reduce the noise as much as possible. The rumble does cease for a while at night. I only mention this in case it might disturb others who want an entirely quiet room albeit in Manhattan this is a bit unlikely!

We had the best welcome I've probably ever had in a hotel. We were given very clear instructions on checkout, room cleaning, and a great list of local restaurants (we tried a few of them and they were great and we would never found them by ourselves). We stored our bags before leaving (a very generous 12:00 p.m. check out but our flight wasn't until the evening) and upon pickup were asked if we wanted to use the facilities. The bed was one of the most comfortable in a hotel I have slept in. I slept so well for the three nights we were there. Good shower and clean room. Close to the subway, the Brooklyn bridge and in Chinatown. It was one of the only options which had twin beds for a reasonable price in New York city. Would definitely stay here again.

The train is near so you can slightly hear it every so often.

The hotel staff were friendly at check-in. The room was small, but adequate for 2 people. The bed was comfortable and high enough to store our luggage underneath it. The bathroom was modern and plenty large. Best of all, the room was surprisingly quiet, despite the bridge across the street. We slept well. The neighborhood has lots of excellent affordable restaurants and a wonderful ambience. We'd certainly stay there again.

The hotel has central air/heating, which means you can't control the temperature in your room.

This was a small hotel which was spotlessly clean, with friendly staff and ideally located for downtown Manhattan. Lower Manhattan, Little Italy and the East Village were all easily accessible and the subway was close by for all other areas. I had a direct view of the Freedom Tower and the Manhattan Bridge from my room. Despite being so close to very noisy traffic on the bridge, the room was well insulated and very quiet. I felt very safe and would definitely come back.

Not a dislike, just worth noting that taxis didn’t easily find the hotel when described as being on Division Street.
